Start Melanofree once the first week, then build up to 2-3 times weekly in week two until you can use it daily. In the 3rd month, taper: daily in week one, 4x in week two, 3x in week three, and once in the last week. Then switch to tretinoin 0.025%, tapering the same way, and finally move to azelaic + tranexamic serums.
• Use the sandwich method only with melanofree and tretinoin, since it’s the active that needs buffering.
Once your skin adjusts and tolerates it well, you can phase out the sandwich method if you like.
