CAN’T SLEEP AT NIGHT? YOUR HEART MAY BE PAYING THE PRICE.

You toss and turn for hours
You wake up several times
You sleep, but still wake up feeling tired.

Don’t keep saying, “I’ll be fine.

Poor or insufficient sleep can affect the hormones and body systems that help regulate your blood pressure.

Over time, ongoing sleep problems are associated with a higher risk of high blood pressure and other heart problems.

Your body needs sleep to rest, repair and reset.
So please, don’t make sleepless nights your normal.

Your body whispers before it screams.
Tonight, ask yourself:

Am I giving my heart enough time to rest?

MY DEAR, PLEASE STOP TREATING YOUR STOMACH LIKE A DUSTBIN.
Some people take purgatives every few weeks because they believe they are “cleansing” their stomach.

But what if that constant flushing is doing more harm than good?
Your gut is not dirty simply because you haven’t purged.

Inside your intestines are trillions of microorganisms that help with digestion and support your body.

When you keep using laxatives or purgatives unnecessarily, you can end up with problems like:
- Frequent diarrhoea
- Dehydration
- Electrolyte imbalance
- Abdominal cramps
- Changes in your normal gut bacteria

And please hear this one carefully:
If you keep getting constipated, don’t just keep purging. FIND OUT WHY.
Your body may be telling you something.
It could be:
Not eating enough fibre
Not drinking enough fluids
Poor diet
Certain medications
Lack of physical activity
Or sometimes an underlying health problem

Purging is not a substitute for finding the cause.
Your body doesn't need constant flushing.
It needs BALANCE.

Have you ever taken purgatives regularly because you believed you were “cleansing” your stomach?

If your blood pressure is always high, your kitchen can either support your health or work against you.
There are some natural foods that contain nitrates, which your body can use to make nitric oxide.

Nitric oxide helps your blood vessels relax and widen, making it easier for blood to flow.

So, what can you add to your diet?
- BEETROOT — one of the richest food sources of dietary nitrates.
- Zobo — especially when prepared without loading it with sugar, support healthy blood pressure.
- CELERY — contains nitrates and other plant compounds that support blood-vessel health.

Don't relay only on medication. let your diet also be because part of your treatment

You stopped eating sweets because you’re afraid of high blood sugar

But here’s something many people don’t know:
Your blood sugar can rise even when you haven’t eaten anything that tastes sweet.

Yes! You can avoid sugar and still experience blood sugar spikes.
Things that can affect your blood sugar:
- STRESS — When you’re constantly stressed, your body releases hormones like cortisol and adrenaline that can raise blood glucose.

- POOR SLEEP — Sleeping too little or having poor-quality sleep can affect how your body responds to insulin.

- LATE-NIGHT MEALS — Eating large meals very late, especially meals high in refined carbohydrates, can make blood sugar management more difficult.

- TOO MANY REFINED CARBOHYDRATES — Rice, bread, pasta, pastries, garri, yam and other carbohydrate-rich foods can raise blood glucose even though they don't taste sweet.

- LACK OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY — Your muscles use glucose for energy. Being inactive can make it harder for your body to manage blood sugar.

- DEHYDRATION — Not drinking enough fluids can affect blood glucose concentration and overall blood sugar management.

- SOME MEDICATIONS — Certain medicines, including some steroids, can increase blood glucose.

And this is why I don’t eat sugar is not enough to tell you that your blood sugar is under control.

Don’t wait until you feel sick before checking your blood sugar.
Know your numbers. Understand your body. Take action early.

Your food could be slowly damaging your health and you may not feel it yet. Every day, you sit down to eat.

You eat the rice.
You drink the soft drink.
You grab the pastries.
You add extra salt.
You eat the fried foods.
You reach for that sugary snack
And because nothing hurts, you assume everything is fine.

But here’s the problem:
Some health problems don’t announce themselves early.
Your blood pressure can rise silently.
Your blood sugar can gradually become abnormal.
Unhealthy cholesterol can build up.
Excess body fat can accumulate around vital organs.
And by the time your body starts screaming
the problem may have been developing for years.

That’s why your plate matters.

You don't need to be perfect.
You just need to start making better choices consistently.

Because the food you eat today isn't just about satisfying hunger.
It is part of the story your body will tell tomorrow.

So before you take your next bite, ask yourself:
Is this food nourishing my body or am I simply feeding my cravings?

Don’t wait until sickness forces you to change.
Take care of your body while you still have the chance.

You’re not pregnant. You’re not breastfeeding. Yet you notice white or milky fluid coming from your ni**le.

And you’re thinking
Maybe it’s nothing.
It will stop by itself.
Let me just leave it.
PLEASE DON’T ASSUME.

A milky ni**le discharge when you’re not pregnant or breastfeeding can sometimes be linked to hormonal changes, particularly an elevated hormone called prolactin.

It can also be associated with:
- Certain medications
- Thyroid problems
- Hormonal imbalance
- Frequent ni**le stimulation
- Problems affecting the pituitary gland

YOUR BODY DESERVES ANSWERS, NOT ASSUMPTIONS.

Especially if the discharge:
- Happens without squeezing the breast
- Comes from only one breast
- Is bloody or clear
- Comes with a lump or breast changes
- Happens repeatedly
- Is accompanied by headaches or vision changes

Sometimes the cause is simple and treatable but you need to know the cause first.

Ladies, have you ever experienced unusual ni**le discharge?
Share this post with every woman you love. Someone may see this today and decide to get checked.

Have you ever wondered why you sometimes develop diarrhea, nausea, stomach upset or other symptoms after taking antibiotics?
One reason is what happens to your gut microbiome.

Your gut is home to trillions of bacteria some harmful, but many are beneficial. These good bacteria help with digestion, support the gut barrier and play an important role in your immune system.

The problem?
Many antibiotics cannot perfectly distinguish between harmful bacteria and beneficial bacteria.
So when you take antibiotics, especially unnecessarily, incorrectly, or for too long, they can disturb the balance of bacteria in your gut.
This is called gut microbiome disruption.

And it may contribute to:
- Diarrhea – because the normal balance of your gut bacteria can be disturbed.

- Nausea and stomach upset – some antibiotics can directly cause gastrointestinal side effects.

- Overgrowth of harmful organisms – when beneficial bacteria are reduced, certain harmful microbes can multiply more easily.

- Increased risk of certain infections – disruption of the gut microbiome can make it easier for some infections, such as C. difficile, to occur.

- Possible effects on immune function – your gut microbiome interacts closely with your immune system.

The real problem is unnecessary or inappropriate antibiotic use.
Don't take antibiotics because someone recommended them.
- Don't use leftover antibiotics.
- Don't demand antibiotics for every fever, cough or cold.
- Don't share your antibiotics with another person.

Use antibiotics when they are truly needed and use them exactly as prescribed by you doctors

Your gut is not just about digestion.
Your gut is part of your overall health.

Share it with someone who frequently takes antibiotics.

Did you know you don't necessarily have to completely give up carbohydrates because you have diabetes?

The real secret is knowing HOW to eat them.
- WATCH YOUR PORTION
You don't have to fill your plate with carbohydrates.
Try the plate method:
🥗 ½ plate: vegetables
🍗 ¼ plate: protein
🍚 ¼ plate: carbohydrates
The amount you eat matters!.

- ADD FIBER TO YOUR MEAL
Don't make carbohydrates the only thing on your plate.
Pair them with fiber-rich vegetables, beans and other high-fiber foods. Fiber can help slow digestion and make the rise in blood sugar more gradual.

- MOVE AFTER YOUR MEAL
Don't eat and immediately remain sitting for hours.
A short walk after eating can help your muscles use glucose and may help reduce the rise in blood sugar..

BUT HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART:
They are ways to help you manage your carbohydrate intake and reduce excessive blood-sugar spikes.

You don't necessarily need to fear carbs. Learn how to eat them wisely.
