Another Nollywood celebrity has cried out. the list of victims is growing faster than anyone can keep up with. 😢

Free to air TV stations in Ghana have been systematically stealing freshly released Nollywood movies, movies uploaded on YouTube by their rightful owners, and broadcasting them on their TV channels without permission, without licensing, and without paying a single kobo to the people who produced them.

And I am not talking about old movies. I am talking about movies that dropped yesterday. Sometimes before the producer even finishes sharing the link, it is already showing on a decoder channel in Ghana. That is how fast and how brazen this theft has become. 😤

Let me name the victims so you understand the scale of this:
Bimbo Ademoye. cried out. Her movies were stolen and broadcast without her consent.

Ruth Kadiri has cried out. Her latest movie was picked up and streamed on their channels the same day it dropped.

Uche Montana's Long Way Home, stolen and broadcast without authorization.

Babarex has cried out several times.
Stephanie Linus has cried out.

And now more and more Nollywood filmmakers are coming forward because this is happening to all of them. 😢

These filmmakers spend millions of naira to produce these movies. They pay actors. They pay crew. They pay for locations, equipment, editing, sound design, and marketing. They upload on YouTube to recoup their investment through views, ads, and streaming revenue. And before they can even make back a fraction of what they spent, a TV station in Ghana has already stolen it and is giving it away for free to thousands of viewers.

You are stealing someone's livelihood. You are stealing an actor's paycheck. You are stealing a director's dream. You are stealing months of work in a single night. 😤

For the records, this is not about Ghana as a country. Ghanaian actors feature in Nollywood movies. This is not a country versus country conversation.

This is about criminals operating under the cover of television licenses. This is about stations that know exactly what they are doing and choose to do it anyway because nobody has held them accountable, until now.

They have touched the wrong people this time. Legal action is already in motion. Evidence has been gathered. The right people have been notified. And what is coming for these stations is not a warning, it is a consequence. 😤

These are the free to air TV stations in Ghana that have been identified by Nollywood filmmakers and their fans as broadcasting stolen Nollywood content without authorization:

🚨 Northern Diamond TV, Paradise TV, Western Diamond TV, Billionaire TV, Lawson TV, Globe TV, Henness TV, Lucky TV, Promos TV, OB TV, Sweet TV, Movement TV, Legend TV, Unity TV GH, Prince Emeka TV, Daso Time TV, Pemsan TV, Kingtom TV, Prekese TV, Divine TV, Fast TV, OP TV, BOC TV, Woazor TV, Home TV, GTV & more🚨

If you own, manage, or work at any of these stations, understand this clearly. What you are doing is a crim!nal offence under intellectual property and copyright law. It does not matter that you have a broadcasting license. A license to broadcast does not give you the right to steal another person's content.

The law is coming. And when it arrives, no decoder, no satellite dish, and no regional location will protect you from it.

To every Nollywood filmmaker, producer, and actor, document everything. Screenshot everything. Report everything. Because your work deserves to be protected. And this time, we are making enough noise that nobody can ignore it.
