IN LOVE WITH MY BILLIONAIRE BOSS JIDE 💔🌹

©️ KWIIN ROSEY STORIES 2 ✍🏼

EPISODE 58

Meanwhile, Chidi had still not given up on Peculiar.
For several days, he kept showing up at her house.
Sometimes, he would spend two hours outside. Other times, he stayed for almost four hours, knocking occasionally and begging Peculiar to come outside and hear him out.
But Peculiar didn't give him any attention.
She completely ignored him.

Even the mosquitoes had started becoming Chidi's biggest enemy. 🦟
After spending hours outside one evening, he returned home scratching his arms and neck.
“Ah! These mosquitoes will finish me because of this woman!”
But despite everything, he still returned the next day.
He was determined to get Peculiar to listen to him.

One fateful evening, Chidi showed up again.
He walked to Peculiar's door and knocked.

“Peculiar…”

No response.

He knocked again.

“Peculiar, please. Just come out and talk to me.”

Still nothing.

Chidi sighed.
“Please, Peculiar. I know you're angry, but just give me five minutes. Let me explain myself.”
This time, the door suddenly opened.

Peculiar stood there with anger written all over her face.

“What is wrong with you?!”

Chidi immediately stood up.
“Peculiar—”

“Are you that daft?!”
She glared at him.
“I told you I don't want to see you! What is even wrong with men these days?”

“Peculiar, please. I just want to talk to you. Please hear me out!”

But Peculiar had had enough.
She suddenly turned toward the compound and shouted at the top of her voice.

“NEIGHBOURS!”
She clapped her hands.
“Neighbour, help me! Help!”

Chidi's eyes widened.
Within seconds, people began coming out of their houses.
Some neighbours hurried toward Peculiar's apartment while a few young men appeared from the other side of the compound.

One of them shouted,
“Madam, who dey trouble you?”

Peculiar pointed toward Chidi.

But before she could say anything, Chidi quickly turned around.
“No, no, no…”
He rushed toward his car, opened the door and jumped inside.

“Chidi!”
Peculiar shouted.

But he had already started the engine.
VROOM!
He sped away.

The young men stared after him.
One of them shook his head.
“Ah! This guy run like say person dey pursue am.”

Peculiar took a deep breath.
“Make una no vex. The guy don run.”
She paused and looked around.
“But una fit wait here small? If he shows up again, abeg help me chase him away.” Make una no touch m oh, make una just threaten m make he no show face for this yard again.

“No wahala!” one of the men replied confidently.

“We go guard your door tonight. Nobody go disturb you.”

Another neighbour nodded.
“Yes, Madam. Don't worry. If that man comes back, he'll meet all of us here.”

Peculiar sighed with relief.
“Thank you, everyone.”

As the neighbours dispersed, Peculiar slowly entered her house and locked the door behind her.
She leaned against the door and closed her eyes.
“Chidi…”
Her heart was angry, but somewhere deep inside, she couldn't deny that seeing him again was stirring up old memories she had tried so hard to bury.
She shook her head.
“No. I deserve better.”

WELCOME TO KWIIN ROSEY STORIES 2

Chidi didn't give up.

Despite the threat Peculiar had made the previous day, he continued showing up at her house.

Every day.

Sometimes he came in the morning.

Sometimes in the afternoon.

And sometimes, he would appear in the evening and sit outside her compound like a man who had completely forgotten that mosquitoes existed.

Yet Peculiar refused to give him a listening ear.

She wouldn't open her door.

She wouldn't answer his calls.

She wouldn't even look through the window at him.

Chidi was slowly becoming desperate.

He knew he had messed up badly, but he wasn't ready to lose Peculiar without fighting for her.

One fateful afternoon, Sharon and Jide went to the supermarket to buy a few things Sharon would take to the village.

Jide pushed the shopping cart while Sharon walked beside her, occasionally picking things from the shelves.

“Babe, are you sure you need all these things?” Jide asked, looking at the growing pile inside the cart.

Sharon nodded.

“Yes. I'm going to the village, remember? I don't want to get there and start looking for things I could have bought here.”

Jide chuckled.

“Your village is not another country. You're only spending a few days, remember?

Sharon turned and stared at him.

“You sound as if you can't afford these things!

Jide immediately shook his head.
“I can, but I'm afraid you're not coming back soon.”

Sharon laughed.
“I'll, trust me .”

They continued shopping until they suddenly heard a familiar voice behind them.

“Hey!”

Jide turned around.
His eyes widened slightly.
“Chidi?”

Chidi walked toward them with a surprised smile.
“Jide!”

The two men shook hands.

“It's been a long time,” Jide said.

“Yeah, man. It's really been a long time.”

Sharon stood quietly beside them.

She didn't look excited to see Chidi.

In fact, she deliberately looked away.

Chidi noticed.

His smile faded slightly.

Then he looked at both of them.

“I didn't know both of you were back together.”

Jide smiled.
“Yeah. “I didn’t know our paths would cross again.”

Chidi laughed.
“Hmm.”
He shook his head playfully.
“Hope you're not going to do what you did the last time?”

Jide raised an eyebrow.
“Not at all”

Chidi laughed.
“Hope you're real this time?”

Jide nodded confidently.
“Yes, for sure.”
He looked at Sharon again.
“This time, I'm not letting her go.”

LIKE, COMMENT AND SHARE.

Sharon remained silent.

She continued looking at the items inside the shopping cart.

Chidi cleared his throat.
Then he turned toward Sharon.

“Sharon…”

She finally looked at him.

“Can I talk to you privately?”

Sharon didn't respond immediately.

She looked at Jide.

Jide understood.
“It's okay.”

He took the shopping cart from Sharon.

“I'll wait for you in the car.”

He leaned closer to her and peek her cheek.
“Don't take too long.”

Sharon nodded.
“Okay.”

Jide walked away.

Chidi watched him leave before turning back to Sharon.

For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.

Then Chidi sighed.
“I need your help.”

Sharon crossed her arms.
“With what?”

“Peculiar.” Chidi said.

Sharon's expression immediately changed.
“What about Peculiar?”

Chidi rubbed the back of his neck.

“I've been going to her house.”
“She refuses to talk to me.”
Chidi sighed.
“Sharon, please. Can you help me talk to her?”

Sharon stared at him.
“Why should I?”

“Because you're her friend.”
Chidi lowered his head.

Sharon took a deep breath.
Then she faced him properly.
“Chidi, you truly hurt my friend.”
Her voice became serious.
“She trusted you.”

Chidi nodded slowly.
“I know.”

“She gave you her heart.”
“And you broke it.”

Chidi swallowed hard.
“I know, Sharon.”

Sharon stared at him for a moment.

“Peculiar is not someone who forgets things easily. When she loves, she loves deeply. But when she finally decides she's done…”

She shook her head.
“That's it.”

Chidi's eyes became desperate.
“But what if you can make her change her mind?”

Sharon sighed.
“Chidi…”

“Please.” Help me talk to her.
He stepped closer.
“I'm not asking you to convince her to take me back. I'm only asking you to tell her that I'm genuinely sorry.” I believe she will listen to you.

Sharon remained silent.

“I've been thinking about everything,” Chidi continued.

“I know I made a terrible mistake. I know I hurt her. And honestly…”

He paused.

“I've never felt this miserable before.”

Sharon raised an eyebrow.
“Chidi, am I God? How do you expect me to know whether Peculiar will listen to me?”
She shook her head.
“Peculiar has a strong heart. I honestly don't know if she would even listen to me.”

Chidi stared at her.

“You broke her heart, and now you want to fix it. But if she doesn't want to see you or talk to you again, then you need to accept it and move on.”
She sighed.
“You're hurting yourself, and at the same time, you're hurting her too.”

“Sharon, don't talk like that.”
Chidi took a deep breath.
“I wasn't expecting you and Jide to be together again.”

Sharon remained silent.

“But you still forgave him despite what he did to you. Why is my own different?”
He shook his head.
“Jide was even worse than I was, but you forgave him.”

Sharon let out a mocking laugh.
“So now you're comparing my relationship with Jide to yours?”
She folded her arms.
“My dear, people forgive differently. The fact that I chose to forgive Jide doesn't mean Peculiar has to forgive you.”

Chidi lowered his eyes.

“Jide only broke my heart,” Sharon continued.
“But you didn't just break Peculiar's heart. You also destroyed her source of livelihood.”
“Her shop was burnt because of your angry parents. Who does that, Chidi?”

He opened his mouth to speak, but Sharon continued.

“Do you know how hard Peculiar worked to build that business? Do you know what she went through before she got to where she was?”

Chidi sighed heavily.
“Sharon…”

“No, let me finish.”
Sharon's voice softened.
“I'm not saying you're a bad person. But you need to understand that Peculiar has been through enough.”
She shook her head.
“My advice to you is to move on and let Peculiar find the man who is right for her.” She deserves better, you know it.

Chidi took a deep breath.
“Sharon, you've really changed.”

Sharon frowned.

“I can't believe you're talking like this.”
He shook his head.
“When you were new in Lagos, I did everything I could to make sure you were comfortable. I helped you whenever you needed someone.”I never expected anything in return.”
He sighed.
“And I could never intentionally hurt Peculiar. I was just in a situation I couldn't handle at that particular time.”
He lowered his voice.
“I admit I made a mistake.”
Chidi looked at her for a moment.
“I thought you were a nice person.”

Sharon's face changed.
“Chidi…”

“Sorry for disturbing you.”
He turned around and started walking away.

Sharon watched him.

Something inside her suddenly felt uncomfortable.
She knew she hadn't handled the situation well.
“Chidi?”

He stopped.

After a moment, he slowly turned around.
“What?”

Sharon took a deep breath.
“I'm sorry for the way I reacted.”

Chidi stared at her.

“I'm just angry. Seeing Peculiar like that doesn't make me happy.”
She looked down briefly.
“She has been through so much, and watching her suffer breaks my heart.”

Chidi nodded slowly.

Sharon continued.
“I'll talk to her.”

Chidi's eyes widened.
“Really?”

“Yes.”
She nodded.
“I'll talk to her and pray that, hopefully, she listens to me.”

Chidi took a deep breath of relief.
“Thank you.”

Sharon gave him a small smile.
“But remember what I said. Whatever decision she makes, you have to respect it.”

“I will.” Chidi accepted.

They stood quietly for a moment.
“Take care of yourself, Sharon.”

“You too, Chidi.”

They said their goodbyes.
Sharon watched him walk away before slowly turning toward the car.

Immediately Sharon got home, she called Peculiar, hoping she would listen to her.

The phone rang twice before Peculiar finally picked up.
“Hello?”
“Peculiar!”

“Sharon!”

The two friends greeted each other warmly and began chatting about random things, laughing and catching up like they hadn't spoken in days.
After a while, Sharon finally cleared her throat.
“Peculiar…”

“Hmm?”

“I saw Chidi today.”

There was silence.

“And?” Peculiar asked suspiciously.

Sharon smiled.
“He was looking tiny.”

“Tiny?”

“Yes!” Sharon laughed. “I think he misses you.”

Peculiar immediately sighed.
“That is his cup of tea. Wait…”
Her voice suddenly became suspicious.
“Did he ask you to talk to me?”

“Not really.”
Sharon paused.
“But I know Chidi lacks Peculiar in his life.”

Peculiar scoffed.
“Sharon!”

“I'm serious!” Sharon said playfully. “You should have seen him. The way his skin looked dull! He doesn't even look like the Chidi we used to know.”

Peculiar burst out laughing
“Please!” don't make me laugh

“I'm telling you the truth. Before, when you were in his life, the man was glowing. Now look at him!”

“Sharon, if you're going to continue talking about my ex and my past, please, I want to sleep.”
She yawned dramatically.
“I have work tomorrow, unlike you whose boss is now your boyfriend.”

Sharon laughed.
“Peculiar, please listen to me.”
She became serious.
“At least hear Chidi out. I'm not saying you should accept him again, but that guy genuinely loves you. I swear.”

Peculiar was quiet.
“What do you know about love?” she suddenly asked.

Sharon laughed.
“Ah!”

“You think that thing you and Jide are doing is love?”
“My friend, if you get pregnant for him again, that's when I'll react.”

Sharon burst into laughter.

Peculiar continued teasing her.
“Since you've decided to pack your things and stay with a man who doesn't even know his left from his right.”

Sharon couldn't stop laughing.
“Today, it's not about me and Jide. It's about you and Chidi.”
She took a deep breath.
“I know Chidi very well. We worked together, and from the little I know about him, that guy will do anything for the person he loves.”
Her voice softened.
“Look at how he took care of me when I first came to Lagos. He made sure I was comfortable. Unfortunately, he just couldn't handle things the way he should have done.”
Sharon paused.
“Please, Peculiar. Allow him to talk to you. I'm not asking you to take him back. Just listen to him.”
She sighed.
“If you do this for me, I'll forever be grateful.”

Peculiar didn't respond.

“Peculiar?”

Still silence.

“Are you there?”

“Yes.”
Peculiar finally spoke.
Her voice was much softer now.
“Chidi really made my life miserable.”
“I never thought I would fall this drastically.”
Peculiar's voice cracked.
“He turned me into another version of myself.”
She took a shaky breath.
“I don't think I can forgive him or his family.”

Sharon sighed.
“I understand.”
“And nobody is forcing you to forgive them.”
Sharon spoke gently.
“But just allow Chidi to explain himself. You can tell him you don't want him anymore. You can tell him you don't trust him. You can tell him everything he did hurt you.”
She swallowed.
“But don't shut him out without hearing him.”

Peculiar remained silent for a few seconds.
Then she sighed.
“I'll try.”

Sharon's face immediately lit up.
“Thank you!”

They continued talking for a few minutes before finally saying goodnight.

THE NEXT MORNING
It was Sunday morning.
Jide drove Sharon to the park.
Neither of them wanted to say goodbye.
They had spent the day talking, laughing and pretending that Sharon wasn't actually leaving.
But eventually, the moment came.

Sharon stood beside the vehicle with her bag.
Jide pulled her into his arms.
“I don't want you to go.”

Sharon smiled sadly.
“I'll only be gone for a few days.”

“A few days is too long.”
He kissed her forehead.
Then her cheek.
Then her lips.
One kiss became another.
And another.
Before long, they were kissing like two people who had forgotten they were standing in a public place.

Some passersby smiled at them.
Others shook their heads.
One elderly man even muttered,
“Una no get house?”

Sharon and Jide burst into laughter.
But neither of them cared.

Finally, Sharon pulled away.
“I have to go.”

Jide held her hand.
“Call me when you arrive.”

“I will.”
Sharon smiled.

Jide laughed.
“Come here.”
He pulled her into another hug.

Eventually, Sharon entered the vehicle.
As it began to move, she waved through the window.
Jide waved back.
He stood there watching.
The vehicle moved farther and farther away.
Sharon's smile slowly disappeared.
Tears gathered in her eyes.
She quickly wiped them away.
But another tear slipped down her cheek.
Then another.
She turned her face toward the window and quietly cried.

Jide remained standing there.
He watched the vehicle until it completely disappeared from his sight.
Only then did he slowly turn around.
The smile on his face was gone
He missed her already.

MEANWHILE…
That evening, Chidi finally returned to Peculiar's house.
He stood outside her door for several seconds, gathering courage.
Then he knocked.
Knock.
Knock.
No response.
He knocked again.
“Peculiar?”

Silence.

He knocked once more.
Finally, the door opened.
Peculiar stood there.
They stared at each other.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Then Peculiar stepped aside.
“Come in.”

Chidi's eyes widened slightly.
“Thank you.”
He walked inside.

The house was small and quiet.
Chidi sat down.

Peculiar sat opposite him.
Silence filled the room.
Neither of them knew where to begin.
Chidi looked at her.
Then he looked down at his hands.
Finally, he stood up.
But instead of speaking, he slowly went down on his knees.

Peculiar's eyes widened.
“Chidi…”

He looked up at her.
“I don't know where to start.”
His voice trembled.
“But I'm sorry.”
He lowered his head.
“I'm deeply sorry, Peculiar.”
He swallowed hard.
“Please forgive me.”
Peculiar took a deep breath.
She stared at the man kneeling before her.
For a moment, memories of everything that had happened came rushing back.
The pain.
The betrayal.
The loss.
The shop.
The tears.
The nights she had cried herself to sleep.
But then she remembered Sharon's words.
Just hear him out.

Peculiar slowly exhaled.
“I forgive you, Chidi.”

Chidi's head shot up.
His eyes widened.
“Do you mean it?”

Peculiar nodded.
“Yes.”

She looked at him calmly.
“You don't have to explain anything to me.”
“I've thought about everything.”
She paused.
“And I've prayed about it.”
Her voice softened.
“I forgive you.”

Chidi immediately stood up.
Without thinking, he pulled Peculiar into a tight embrace.
“Thank you!”

He hugged her like his life depended on it.

Peculiar laughed softly.
“Chidi…”

“Thank you.”
He finally pulled away and looked into her eyes.
“Does that mean you're going to be my girlfriend again?”

Peculiar sighed.
“That…”
She shook her head.
“I don't know.”
“But…”
She smiled.
“Let's be friends for now and see how it goes.”

Chidi immediately smiled again.
“That's fine by me!”
He nodded excitedly.
“Can I peck you?”

Peculiar stared at him dramatically.
“Peck who?”

Chidi laughed.
“Peculiar!”

“From peck to kiss, I know you.”
She pointed at him.

Chidi laughed.
“Okay, okay.”

Peculiar smiled.
“Do you want to eat anything?
“I prepared something.”
She folded her arms.
“I knew you would show up.”

Chidi's eyes widened.
He rubbed his stomach.
“I'm starving! I haven't eaten properly for days because I've been thinking about you.”
“Now that we're good, my appetite is back.”
He smiled.
“Please bring the food.”

Peculiar shook her head as she headed toward the kitchen.
“You're still the same Chidi with big mouth.”

“Of course!”
He smiled.

A few minutes later, Peculiar returned carrying a steaming bowl of vegetable soup and a plate of semo.

Chidi's eyes widened.
“Ah!”

He rubbed his hands together.
“This is exactly what I needed!”

Peculiar laughed.

“Eat before the food gets cold.”

Chidi took the first swallow.
His eyes closed in satisfaction.
“Hmm!”

Peculiar smiled.
“You like it?”

“I love it.”
He looked at her.

MEANWHILE…
Jide sat alone in his apartment.
The house felt strangely quiet.
Too quiet.

Sharon's laughter was missing.
Her voice was missing.
Even her little arguments with him were missing.

Jide picked up his phone and checked the time.
“She should have arrived by now.”
He sighed.
He wanted to call her.
But he decided to give her a little more time.
He leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes.
Suddenly

DING-DONG!
The sound of the doorbell startled him.
Jide frowned.

“Who could that be?”
He reluctantly stood up and walked toward the door.
He opened it.
And the moment he saw the person standing on his doorstep…
Jide froze.
His eyes widened in shock.
It was a woman he never expected to see again.
“YOU?”

SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS PREGNANT… THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED 💔

The next morning, Jide woke up early.

He looked around the living room and smiled as memories of their fun weekend flashed through his mind.

He noticed the empty plates, scattered cushions, food containers, and other things they had left behind the previous night.

Without waking Sharon, he quietly got up and began cleaning.

He gathered the plates, cleared the table, arranged the cushions, and straightened the entire living room until everything was back in place.

After finishing, he walked back to the couch.

Sharon slowly opened her eyes.
“Babe…”

She rubbed her sleepy eyes and looked around.

“You should have woken me up to help with the cleaning.”

Jide smiled.

“I wouldn't wake you up for this.” He sat beside her.
“You're here to be pampered.”

Sharon smiled.
“Hmm. So I'm your princess now?”

“My queen.” Jide corrected

She laughed.
“You really know how to sweet-talk a woman.”

Jide shrugged.
“I've always been good at it.”

Sharon rolled her eyes.
That's exactly why I don't trust you around women.

Jide burst out laughing.

WELCOME 🤗 TO KWIIN ROSEY STORIES 2 ✍🏼

Jide leaned closer to her.
“Well, there's one thing I can't wait to do.”

“What?” Sharon said with curiosity

“I can't wait to introduce you to my parents.” Jide confessed

Sharon's smile suddenly faded slightly.
“Your parents?”

“Yes.”
Jide smiled warmly.
“I want them to meet the woman who has completely stolen my heart.”

Sharon looked at him silently.

Before she could respond, Jide leaned closer, intending to kiss her.

But suddenly, Sharon's stomach turned.
Her face changed.

She quickly covered her mouth.
“Oh my God…”

Jide immediately stopped.
“Sharon?”

She jumped to her feet and hurried toward the bathroom.

Jide stood up in confusion.
“Babe, what's wrong?”

Sharon barely made it to the toilet before she began vomiting.

Jide rushed after her.

“Sharon!”

He stood outside the bathroom door, worried.

“Are you okay?”

Sharon held onto the sink, trying to catch her breath.

“I'm fine…”

But her voice sounded weak.

Jide wasn't convinced.

He entered carefully and knelt beside her.

“You don't look fine.”

Sharon rinsed her mouth and wiped her face.

“It's probably something I ate yesterday.”

Jide frowned.
“We ate the same thing.”

Sharon became quiet.

Jide noticed.
“What?”

“Nothing.” Sharon walked back to bed.

“You're hiding something.” Jide said

“No, I'm not.” Sharon replied.

Jide studied her face.
“Have you been feeling like this before?”

Sharon hesitated.
“No.”

Jide gently touched her forehead.
“You're not even feverish.”

Sharon forced a smile.
“See? I'm fine.”

But as she said those words, another wave of nausea hit her.

She quickly turned back toward the toilet.

Jide's eyes widened.
“Sharon!”

He held her hair back while she struggled with the vom!t.

When she finally settled, she sat on the bathroom floor, exhausted.

Jide looked genuinely worried.
“We're going to the hospital.”

“No!”
Sharon immediately shook her head.

“Why?”

“I'm okay. I just need to rest.”

Jide stared at her.
“Are you sure?”

“Yes.” Sharon nodded weakly

He sighed.

“Okay. But if you feel worse, we're going straight to the hospital.”

Sharon nodded.
“Okay.”

Jide helped her back to the couch and brought her a glass of water.

She took a small sip.

Jide sat beside her, watching her carefully.

But Sharon's mind was somewhere else.

Her sudden nausea.

The dizziness.

The way she had been feeling lately.

A terrifying thought slowly entered her mind.

Could she be pregnant again?

Sharon's heart began pounding.

She quickly pushed the thought away.
“No…”

Jide turned toward her.
“What did you say?”

Sharon looked at him.
“Nothing.”

Jide smiled gently.
“Then rest.”

He pulled a blanket over her.

Sharon closed her eyes.

But sleep was the last thing on her mind.

Because if her suspicion was correct…

there was something she needed to find out before Jide ever met her family.

And this time, the secret wasn't just about Purity.

FOLLOW KWIIN ROSEY STORIES 2 ✍🏼

A few days later, Sharon finally decided to go to the hospital for a test.
Since the morning, she had been unusually nervous.
As she got ready, her mind kept racing.
What if I'm actually pregnant?
She shook her head quickly.

“No, God forbid.”

She had never planned to have another child with Jide. Not now. She wasn't even sure how she would explain it to him, especially after everything they had been through.
As she headed to the hospital, Sharon clasped her hands together and began praying silently.
“God, please… let this test be negative. I beg you.”
She took a deep breath.
“If you save me this time, I promise I will never sleep with Jide again.”
She paused.

“Okay… maybe I shouldn't make that promise because I know myself.”
She sighed.
“God, please just help me!”
When Sharon finally arrived at the hospital, she went through the necessary tests and was asked to wait for the results.
She sat quietly in the waiting area, tapping her fingers nervously against her handbag.
Every few minutes, she glanced toward the doctor's office.

“Please, God…”
Eventually, the doctor walked out holding a file.

“Sharon?”

Sharon immediately stood up.
“Yes, ma.”

The doctor walked over and handed her the test results.

Sharon's hands trembled as she opened the paper.

The doctor smiled.

DO NOT COPY ❌

I'm sorry, you're not pregnant.”

Sharon froze.

The doctor continued.
“Your test didn't confirm any pregnancy, and there's no indication of anything serious. You may have been stressed, exhausted, or perhaps eaten something that didn't agree with your system.”

Sharon stared at the doctor.
“I'm… not pregnant?”

“No.”

Sharon's eyes suddenly lit up.
“Thank you, Lord!”

Before she could control herself, she jumped up and hugged the doctor.
“Thank you, Doctor! Thank you so much!”
The doctor laughed in surprise.

“You're welcome.”

Sharon released her and quickly wiped the tears of relief from her eyes.
“I'm just so happy.”

The doctor nodded, but as Sharon turned to leave, she called her back.
“Sharon.”

She turned around.
“Yes, ma?”

“If you feel you're not ready to have children yet, please make sure you use protection or an appropriate contraceptive method to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.”

Sharon nodded immediately.
“Yes, ma. I understand.”

“Good.”

“Thank you, Doctor.”
Sharon walked out of the hospital with the biggest smile on her face.
For the first time in days, she could finally breathe.
She entered her ride and leaned back against the seat.

“Thank God!”
She laughed softly.
“I escaped!”

She was so relieved that she almost forgot the promise she had made to God earlier.
I will never sleep with Jide again.

Sharon suddenly went quiet.
“Hmm…”

She shook her head.
“Let's not think about that one.”

Meanwhile, Jide was at work.
He had left the house earlier that morning for an important meeting, completely unaware that Sharon had spent the last few days worrying about a possible pregnancy.

Sharon arrived back at Jide's house feeling lighter and happier than she had in days.

She opened the door and stepped inside.
“Babe?”

No answer.

She remembered that Jide had gone to work.
Sharon smiled.
She dropped her handbag on the couch and stretched her arms happily.
“No pregnancy!”
She whispered excitedly.
But then her smile slowly faded.
She remembered the night they had spent together.
She remembered how close they had been.
She covered her face with both hands.
“Sharon, Sharon, Sharon…”
She shook her head.
“Why do you always put yourself in trouble?”
Then she smiled again.
“At least I'm safe this time.”
She walked toward the kitchen, humming happily.

When Jide finally returned from work, Sharon immediately rushed toward him and wrapped her arms around him.
Jide looked surprised by her sudden excitement.

He smiled and hugged her back.
“Sharon, I'm happy you've finally bounced back.”

Sharon nodded happily.
“Yes, darling. And guess what? I prepared something delicious for both of us.”
She smiled, completely unaware that Jide had no idea about the secret test she had secretly taken at the hospital.

Jide raised an eyebrow.
“You cooked?”

“Yes!”
Sharon stood on her toes and gave him a quick peck.

“Go and freshen up, then come and have dinner.”

Jide smiled mischievously.
“What if I eat you up first?”
He pulled her gently closer, making Sharon burst into laughter.

“Jide!” Sharon laughing

He chuckled and planted playful kisses along her neck before meeting her lips. Their kiss deepened for a moment, filled with affection and the excitement of seeing each other again.
But after a while, Sharon gently pulled away.
“Stop.”

Jide looked at her in confusion.
“What's wrong?”

Sharon adjusted her clothes and smiled.
“We can't do this today. Go and freshen up first. Your food is waiting for you.”

Jide sighed dramatically.
“Okay, Mama.”
He raised both hands in surrender.
“I'm going to freshen up right away.”

Sharon turned to walk away.
Suddenly, Jide playfully tapped her backside.

Sharon burst into laughter.
“Jide!”

He laughed.

“Go now!”

“Okay, Mama!”
Jide hurried upstairs to freshen up, while Sharon shook her head and smiled.
She walked toward the dining table, still smiling.

But deep inside, one thought kept bothering her.
If Jide ever finds out I secretly went to the hospital because I thought I was pregnant… this man will never let me hear the end of it.
She covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.
“Let me just keep quiet.”

After they finished eating, Sharon suddenly looked at Jide.
There was something she needed to tell him.
“Jide…” She said calmly

“Yes, Mama?” Jide responded.

“I'll be going to the village this weekend.”
Jide immediately looked surprised.
“The village? Why?”

Sharon took a deep breath.
“I want to visit my parents' graves. I want to clear the grasses around them and pray for them. I've been having nightmares about them lately, and somehow, I feel like they're not happy with me.”

Jide's expression softened.
He nodded slowly.
“Okay. I understand.”
He paused.
“But can I come with you?”

“No, Jide,” Sharon quickly interrupted.

Jide raised an eyebrow.

“My friends aren't even aware that I'm going to the village. I just want to go there quietly, take care of my parents' graves, pray, and come back. I'll be back before you even realize I'm gone.”

Jide sighed dramatically.
“Wow… How am I going to cope without you?”
He rubbed his hands through his hair.
“Mama, you're already making me miss you.”

Sharon smiled.
“I'll miss you too. But before you know it, I'll be back.”

Jide suddenly leaned closer, his expression becoming playful.
“Then you have to give me sugar tonight.”
He licked his lips teasingly.

Sharon laughed.
“No!”

Jide's jaw dropped.
“No?”

“No. Not until I come back.”

Jide placed a hand on his chest dramatically.
“Sweet boy like me, and you don't want to give me any sugar before you leave?”

He pouted, deliberately making himself look pitiful.

Sharon couldn't stop laughing.
“Look at you!”

Jide continued with his dramatic expression.
“Am I not your sweet boy?”

“You're too dramatic.”
Sharon leaned closer to him and whispered,
“You're just so irresistible.”

Jide's eyes lit up.
“I know, right?”
He smiled proudly.

Before Sharon could say anything else, Jide pulled her gently toward him and kissed her.
Sharon laughed against his lips, but soon found herself completely caught up in the moment.
Jide lifted her playfully into his arms and carried her toward the bedroom, both of them laughing as they disappeared down the hallway.

But Sharon's mind suddenly flashed back to the promise she had made at the hospital.
“God, if you save me this time, I'll never sleep with Jide again.”
She looked at Jide and shook her head inwardly.
God… please don't let me regret this tomorrow.
