Had Nigeria a functional system, the opinion of the family of deceased Mary wouldn't have mattered as far as it borders on the discovery of the cause of her death.

In fact the opinion of Mary's Father is not even needed on whether autopsy should be conducted or not.

Protection of the lives of citizens should be the most important priority of a responsible government.

Where a life is lost under a mysterious circumstance, it also behooves such a responsible government to unearth the mystery.

An uncompromising autopsy will not only reveal the actual cause of Mary's death, it'll also expose the culprit(s) behind the untimely death of such a promising young lady, as well as help to forestall similar avoidable death.

I'm not an expert in the field of investigation, but I can say for sure, that Mary's death was an avoidable one. And as a matter of fact 90% of the deaths that occur in Nigeria are avoidable deaths.

When we say that Africa is underdeveloped, such assertion transcends road and flyovers infrastructural development. Our institutions are underdeveloped, physically, structurally, administratively, intellectually and systemically.

However, two things stood out for me.
1. Why would the principal thank Mr.Tinubu? For what exactly? Most Nigerians are suffering from chronic Stockholm syndrome. We're so used to a bad system, that any little relief we begin to praise our tormentors. SHOULD NIGERIANS BE KIDNAPPED IN THE FIRST PLACE? Are you sure we're still normal humans in this world?

2. Then there are claims spreading widely that the abduction was staged! One of two things: If it was truly staged, then APC is the Devil we always talk about. If it wasn't, then APC has once again, created more confusion than they ever did.
