Before you put that body cream on your face, PAUSE for a second.

Yes, it may make your body feel soft and moisturized…

But your face might not feel the same way about it.

Here are a few things to check first:

CHECK THE LABEL

Does the product actually say it's suitable for the face?

If it clearly says “body only,” don't assume it's automatically safe for facial use.

🌸CHECK THE FRAGRANCE

A heavily fragranced cream may irritate some people's facial skin, especially if your skin is sensitive.

👀 CHECK THE INGREDIENTS

Some body creams contain ingredients or formulations designed for thicker body skin that may not be ideal for your particular face.

THINK ABOUT YOUR SKIN TYPE

If your face is oily, acne-prone or easily irritated, a very thick cream may leave you feeling greasy or may contribute to clogged pores for some people.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY…

If you're unsure, don't just apply it all over your face and hope for the best.

Check the product instructions, and if you're trying something new, test a small area first.

Because skincare isn't simply:

“Cream is cream.”

It's about using the right product for what your skin actually needs.

That body cream looks innocent sitting on your shelf… 😂

But before you decide to use it on your face, take a moment to check the label, fragrance, ingredients and how your skin usually reacts.

Not every body cream is bad for the face, but not every one is a good match either.

WHY DO WE HAVE FACE CREAM AND BODY CREAM? 🤔

Have you ever wondered why some creams say “for the body” while others are specifically made for the face?

Isn't skin… skin? 😂

Well, not exactly.

The skin on your face can be more sensitive and may be more prone to things like oiliness, clogged pores, irritation and breakouts.

That's why facial products are often formulated with the face in mind.

A body cream, on the other hand, may be thicker, more heavily fragranced or designed mainly to moisturize areas like your arms, legs and body.

But here's the important part:

It doesn't mean that EVERY body cream is bad for your face.

Some moisturizers are perfectly suitable for both the face and body.

The key is to check the product and understand what your skin needs.

For example, if a body cream is heavily fragranced and your face is sensitive or acne-prone, using it on your face may not be the best idea.

And if a product is specifically made for the face, there's usually a reason for that.

So before you put your body cream on your face, don't just ask:

“Will it moisturize me?”

Also ask:

“Is it suitable for facial skin?”

Your skin deserves the right kind of care. 🌿

Have you noticed that your urine looks darker than usual? 👀

Sometimes, it may simply be your body saying:

“Please, I need some water.”

When you don't drink enough fluids, your urine can become more concentrated and look darker.

So before you ignore it, think about your water intake.

Have you been busy all day?

Have you barely touched your water bottle?

Have you been drinking more coffee, tea or other drinks and forgetting plain water?

Your body needs water every day to support normal body functions, including temperature regulation and digestion.

So, keep it simple:

💧 Keep water close to you.

💧 Take small sips throughout the day.

💧 Don't wait until you're extremely thirsty before you remember to drink.

But one important thing: dark urine isn't always dehydration. Certain foods, medicines and health conditions can also change urine colour. If it stays unusually dark or you have other concerning symptoms, it's worth getting medical advice.

For now…

Go check where your water bottle is.

Have you had enough water today?

Face cream or body cream… does it really matter? 👀

The answer is: sometimes.

Not every body cream is unsuitable for your face, but facial skin can have different needs from the skin on your body.

So before using one product everywhere, check what it was formulated for and how your skin responds.

You don't have to earn the right to rest

20/08/2026

What if the problem isn't that you're lazy? 🌿

Maybe you're just tired.

You've been trying to keep up with work, family, responsibilities, messages, errands, expectations… and somehow, you're still telling yourself:

“I should be doing more.”

Sometimes we see people being productive all day and start wondering why we can't do the same.

But here's the thing…

You are not a machine.

There are days when your body needs rest.

There are days when your mind needs a break.

And there are days when getting through the day is already enough.

Rest doesn't mean you're lazy.

Taking things slowly doesn't mean you've failed.

And you don't have to be productive every minute of the day to be doing well.

Sometimes, instead of asking:

“What else should I be doing?”

Maybe ask:

“What do I need right now?”

Maybe you need sleep.

Maybe you need a proper meal.

Maybe you need to step away from your phone.

Maybe you simply need to breathe and give yourself permission to slow down.

Your wellness matters too. 💚

And if nobody has told you today:

You don't have to earn the right to rest.

Can we stop making healthy eating look expensive? 😂

Because honestly…

Sometimes you see “healthy eating” on social media and you're wondering…

“Wait o… am I supposed to take a loan before I can eat healthy?” 😂

Fancy smoothies.

Expensive nuts.

Imported fruits.

Chia seeds.

Avocado toast.

Foods with names that make you check your account balance first. 😭

But here's something we sometimes forget…

Eating healthy doesn't have to look fancy.

You can start with the foods that are already around you.

Beans.

Eggs.

Vegetables.

Fruits.

Sweet potatoes.

Whole grains.

Fish.

Groundnuts.

And many other simple foods.

The goal isn't to make every meal look like something from a five-star restaurant.

It's about giving your body a variety of nutrients and building healthier eating habits that you can actually maintain.

And no, you don't have to completely stop eating the foods you enjoy either.

Healthy eating is not about being perfect.

It's about balance.

It's about making better choices more often.

It's about learning what your body needs and finding realistic ways to give it those things.

So please…

Don't look at someone's expensive “what I eat in a day” video and conclude that healthy eating is not for you. 😂

Start with what you have.

Learn.

Improve gradually.

And make it sustainable for YOUR life.

Now let's settle this in the comments. 👇🏽😂

What's one affordable Nigerian food you think deserves more respect when it comes to healthy eating?

Beans? 👀

Eggs?

Vegetables?

Sweet potatoes?

Groundnuts?

Fish?

Or something else?

Drop it in the comments.

Let's give our everyday foods their flowers. 😂🥗💚
