Most business problems don't start where you think they do.
A customer asks for a discount and you blame price-sensitive buyers.
Your staff keep asking questions and you blame a lack of initiative.
Money seems to disappear and you assume the business simply isn't making enough.
But those are often just symptoms.
The real problem is usually hidden beneath the surface.
The founders who grow faster aren't the ones who react to every symptom. They're the ones who identify the real gap and fix it.
Which of these have you experienced in your business?

Do you know why most food businesses in Nigeria start strong and then slow down after the first few months?
When a food business opens, the first set of customers come because of the excitement. It is new. People are curious. They want to try it.
But after two or three months, that excitement dies down. And if the business does not have a system to keep customers coming back, sales will start to drop.
The business owner will think the problem is competition or that people no longer like their food. But most of the time the real problem is that there is no system in place to bring customers back.
No loyalty offer for people that buy regularly. No WhatsApp group where you share your menu for the week. No way to remind people that you exist when they are deciding where to eat.
The customers did not leave because the food got bad. They left because something else caught their attention and you had no way to pull them back.
Building a simple customer follow up system, even just a WhatsApp broadcast list, can completely change how consistent your sales are every month.

Why you should never give a customer your price before they understand what they are actually paying for.
This is a mistake that a lot of business owners make especially on social media and in their DMs.
The customer sends a message asking about a product or service. And immediately you send them the price.
And they say "okay thank you" and leave.
The problem is not that your price is too high. The problem is that you gave them the price before you gave them a reason to want what you are selling.
When a customer sees a price without understanding the value behind it, the only thing they can compare it to is price from another person. So they will go and check two or three other vendors and come back to whoever is cheapest.
But if before you give the price you take time to explain what they are getting, the quality, the process, why your product or service is different, now when they see the price it makes sense. They are no longer comparing you to the cheapest option. They are comparing what they will get.
So next time someone asks for your price, explain the value first. Then give the price. That one change will make a big difference in how many people say yes.

Being busy and making money are not the same thing.
A lot of business owners in Nigeria are the most hardworking people you will ever meet.
They are up early. They are working late. They are handling everything by themselves. They never rest.
But at the end of the month when they check their account, the number does not match the effort they put in.
Being busy is not the same as being profitable. You can be busy doing the wrong things. Busy filling orders that are not making you money. Busy managing problems that could have been avoided. Busy doing tasks that somebody else should be handling.
The question is not how many hours are you working. The question is: is the work you are doing actually moving your business forward?
That is the difference between being busy and making money.
💬 Which one are you right now? Busy or Making Money? Be honest in the comment.

Do you know why customers that bought from you before will suddenly stop coming back to you?
Most business owners think that once a customer buys from them, that customer is theirs.
But that is not how it works.
A customer that bought from you today has no obligation to come back tomorrow. Especially if after that purchase you never checked on them. Never sent them a message. Never let them know what you have going on.
A lot of businesses lose repeat customers not because their product was bad but because after the sale, they went completely silent. And by the time that customer needs the product again, they have already forgotten that you exist.
The fix is simple. After every sale, follow up. A short WhatsApp message asking if they are happy with what they got. A message two weeks later to let them know about something new. A message on their birthday if you have it.
You do not need to be annoying about it. Just stay present. Because the business that stays in a customer's mind is the one they will call when they are ready to buy again.
💬 Do you follow up with your customers after a sale? Yes or No in the comment.
