Working in a pharmacy, you hear and see a LOT🫂 But not every experience is a story worth bringing here.

I want the white Vitamin C. That one strong pass the coloured one, abi aunty Nurse?

I hear this almost every day!🤦🏽‍♀️

But let’s clear this up because the colour of your Vitamin C does not automatically mean one is stronger than the other.

So what’s actually the difference between the white and coloured Vitamin C?

He said he needed antibiotics.

I asked, "Why?"

He said, "I just had unprotected s*x. I need something... just in case there's infection."

I sha explained that antibiotics no be insurance. They won't protect against viral infections like HIV.

I advised him on what to do next and when to get tested.

These pharmacy conversations ehn... every day I learn something new🤦🏽‍♀️

I noticed one guy kept coming back to buy cough syrup.

One day, I asked him,
"This your cough no dey ever go?" 🤔

He just smiled and said,
"Na cruise."

I was confused.
"Wetin cruise get to do with cough syrup?"

Later, I found out that some people drink a whole bottle at once just to get high.

I was shocked 😳

So because codeine is restricted, some people have now turned to abusing some cough syrups.

Chai... this one weak me🤦🏽‍♀️

Please, use medicines for what they are meant for. Drug abuse can damage your liver, affect your brain, and put your life at risk.

Health is wealth.

A wise man once said, "A pharmacist's wife is a pharmacist."

I laughed when I first heard it.

But funny how time flies. The more years I spend in the pharmacy, the more I understand what he meant.

From learning medications and counseling patients to answering health questions and helping people make better decisions, I never imagined this would become part of my everyday life.

I may not have gone to pharmacy school, but being married to a pharmacist has taught me that learning never stops.

Is cenpain night addictive?

"I don't like taking drugs."

A customer told me that today.

So I smiled and asked, "Then why are you in the pharmacy?" 😄

He laughed and said, "Because I have no choice."

Truth is, most people don't enjoy taking medicines. They just want to feel better.

As a pharmacist's wife, one thing I've learned is this:

The goal isn't to take more medicines.
The goal is to take the right medicine, for the right condition, at the right dose.

That's why self-medication can be risky.

The medicine that worked for your neighbor, your sibling, or even for you six months ago may not be the right one today.

Sometimes, what looks like malaria is actually something else.
What feels like typhoid may not be typhoid at all.

Your body deserves the right diagnosis, not just the nearest medicine.
