Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa and the 9th biggest internet user in the world, with 108 million people online.

In just the first six months of 2026, MTN alone made nearly 3 trillion Naira ($2.993 trillion) from Nigerians.
This includes:
- 1.7 trillion Naira from data.
- 897.1 billion Naira from phone calls.
- 112.7 billion Naira from SMS.

Every single day, Nigerians consume 45,800 Terabytes of data. Even if you calculate it at a cheap rate of 200 Naira per Gigabyte, Nigerians are spending 9.8 billion Naira every day just on internet data. This doesn't even count the money spent on calls, texts, or other fees.

It is a disgrace that a country like Nigeria does not have its own national telecommunications company to keep this money in the country. Instead, foreign companies like MTN and Airtel are draining billions of Naira every day while Nigerian leaders do nothing. Anyone with a brain should realize this is not normal.
