A Chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Buba Galadima, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is buying Lawmakers at the Federal and State levels, with N200 million and N50 million, respectively, and with luxury vehicles, in a very desperate move to win the 2027 Presidential election, especially.

Galadima made the allegation on Tuesday, while fielding questions during an interview on Arise Television's Prime Time programme.

He said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all the APC State Governors are afraid of the forthcoming contests, adding that, they want to win unopposed.

Galadima also alleged that a woman was currently sharing money with some opposition Candidates who agreed to forfeit their tickets in favour of the All Progressives Congress Candidates.

His exact words: “We are only 100 days away from the general elections. Like every Politician, except those in power, are watching their backs, because as I speak to you, I do not think there is any Candidate outside the APC who is sure of contesting this election.

“Every member of the House of Assembly who agrees to forfeit his ticket for the APC Candidate is currently being given N50 million, and members of the House of Representatives will be given N200 million with a car.

“There is a lady from Zamfara State, who is sharing the money in a Hotel here in Abuja. In fact, she just held a meeting about four days ago with the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, showing some Candidates who have forfeited their right to contest the election. They wrote resignation letters and collected the money.

“The desperation with which the APC is going, they can do anything under the sun to come back to power, because they know what it entails, if they lose power; what they have done to people will visit them.”

Galadima's allegation, if true, points to a dangerous commercialisation of the 2027 general election race, where tickets are traded before ballots are printed. The claim that a woman from Zamfara State is sharing cash in an Abuja Hotel and meeting with the APC National Chairman, raises the stakes beyond mere defection to alleged organised inducement.

It further shows the desperation of President Tinubu to win the Presidential election in a reckless manner, and a direct admission of the woeful failure of his over three years administration.

A security briefing reportedly submitted to an adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump has raised fresh concerns about President Bola Tinubu’s health ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.

The briefing, attributed to Mike Arnold, a former mayor of Blanco, Texas, alleges that Tinubu is seriously ill and warns that his possible death before the January 16, 2027 election could trigger political instability and a struggle over succession.

The document reportedly points to Tinubu’s extended stay abroad, his absence from the 2026 United Nations General Assembly and what Arnold described as concerns about the President’s physical condition.
