EG. John think of a number añ multiply it by 3. And added 3, Añd the end result is 18. Find the number that John thought of.
Solution.
Let the nuber he think about be X, multipl6 xx by 3 we get.
3X, Add 3 we get
3x + 3 =18.
To play the game of finding the value of the uñ known X
We first subtract 3 on both side as a principle of maintane equality.
3X=18--3
3x =15
We devide both side by 3 to left only with X.
X =15/3
"X=5.
The value of the unknown X is 5.
