Sacred things are for God, and those who associate with God should be sacred.
That’s actually God’s own standard from the beginning.
God Himself is Sacred/Holy
Leviticus 11:44 — “For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy.”
God doesn’t share His glory with what is common or polluted.
Sacred = set apart. It belongs to Him alone.
That’s why the *Ark, the Temple, the Altar, the Priestly garments* — all were called “holy to the LORD”.
You couldn’t just touch them anyhow. _Uzzah touched the Ark and died - 2 Sam 6:6-7
Not because God is wicked, but because sacred things carry to weight.
If you associate with God, you carry His sacredness*
_1 Peter 2:9 — “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people...”_
_2 Corinthians 6:17 — “...be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.”
When you belong to God, your life, body, mouth, time, and worship become sacred too.
Not because we’re perfect, but because *He who called us is holy*. _1 Peter 1:15_
Think of it like this:
You don’t put crown jewels in a trash bag.
You don’t use communion cups for ordinary water.
If God dwells in you _1 Cor 3:16_, then you are His sacred.
What makes a person “sacred” to God?*
It’s not rules. It’s separation + devotion.
Not Sacred** **Sacred**
Living anyhow Living set apart
Using God’s name casually Honoring God’s name
Mixing worship with compromise Pure worship and obedience
Treating prayer/Bible like routine Treating them as meeting with God
The danger of treating sacred things as common*
Malachi 1:12 — “Ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted”_
Hebrews 10:29 — “...hath counted the blood of the covenant... an unholy thing”_
When we treat God, His word, His presence, His people as ordinary, we lose the power.
But when we honor what is sacred, God honors us back. _1 Samuel 2:30_
Father, forgive me for times I have treated sacred things as common.
Set me apart for You.
Let my life, my home, my work, and my worship reflect that I belong to You.
Make me a sacred vessel, fit for Your use. In Jesus’ name, Amen._
Holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.” Psalm 93:5_
That’s a powerful truth.
Is there a particular area God has been nudging you to treat as more “sacred” right now — your time, relationships, worship, body, or service?

*"My Cup Runneth Over"*
_Psalm 23:5 — “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”_
---
There are seasons where life feels empty.
And then there are seasons where God says: _“I’m not just going to meet your need. I’m going to overflow it.”_
*"My cup runneth over"* isn’t about having more problems than you can carry.
It’s about having more of God than your life can contain.
*3 truths about an overflowing cup:*
*1. It’s in the presence of enemies*
David didn’t write this from a palace. He wrote it while being hunted.
God doesn’t wait for the storm to pass to bless you. He sets the table _right in front of_ what’s trying to break you.
Your blessing isn’t delayed by your battles. It’s displayed through them.
*2. The oil comes first*
_“Thou anointest my head with oil”_ — then the cup overflows.
God anoints you with His Spirit before He pours out His provision.
You’re not just getting stuff. You’re getting Himself.
And when you have Him, everything else starts spilling over: peace in chaos, joy in grief, strength in weakness.
*3. Overflow is meant to be shared*
A cup that runs over isn’t for hoarding. It waters the people around you.
Your testimony, your kindness, your worship in hard times — that’s the overflow touching someone else’s dry ground.
God blesses you _through_ you.
*The heart of it:*
A full cup meets your need.
An overflowing cup proves God’s goodness.
It says: _“Not only did He provide, He provided abundantly. Not only did He keep me, He kept me with joy.”_
Ephesians 3:20 — _“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think...”_
That’s what “runneth over” looks like.
*Prayer:*
_Lord, I’m tired of living with a half-empty cup. Anoint me again. Fill me with Your Spirit until I’m spilling peace, gratitude, and love everywhere I go. Let my life be proof that You are more than enough. In Jesus’ name, Amen._
---
You’re not running on empty.
The Table is set. The Oil is fresh.
And your cup? It’s meant to run over.
What part of your life needs God’s overflow right now — peace, provision, healing, hope?
Come and be fill with the blessings that comes with my cup runneth over.
