Today marks one year in Canada. 🇨🇦❤️

Exactly one year ago, we arrived with suitcases full of dreams, hope, and yes, a little uncertainty. Since then, we’ve experienced a true roller coaster of emotions: the excitement of starting over, endless paperwork, adjusting to a completely different climate (especially winter, with its shorter, darker days), discovering a new culture, and at the same time, learning to live in such a multicultural environment.

If there’s one thing that has surprised me, it’s how quickly time has flown. I honestly feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day. 😂 Between university, work, my business, family life, and every new experience, the days just fly by.

This year has also given me something incredibly valuable: discovering a strength I never knew I had. I’ve amazed myself with everything I’ve been capable of accomplishing, facing challenges that once seemed impossible, and growing both personally and professionally. Through every step of this journey, I’ve felt God’s hand guiding me and the loving protection of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and because of that, my heart is filled with gratitude.

Canada has given us the opportunity to meet truly wonderful people. We’ve met fellow Latinos and friends from all over the world who, regardless of where they come from, have always been willing to lend a helping hand. Here, I’ve learned that being Latino also means belonging to a community that supports one another and celebrates each other’s successes.

Of course, we miss our beloved Mexico so much. We miss our family, our traditions, the food, the hugs, and all those little things you only truly appreciate when you’re far away. But every day, we also become more grateful for everything this country has given us—especially the opportunity to build a brighter future and a better quality of life for our children.

Thank you to my children. Even if they may not fully understand today why we made this decision, I know that one day they will appreciate all the love, sacrifice, and hope behind this dream.

Thank you to my husband for being my life partner, for always believing in me, and for encouraging me to keep moving forward, even when the road felt difficult.

Thank you to my parents, my aunts, and my entire family for always being there for us, celebrating every milestone, and making us feel close despite the thousands of miles between us.

And thank you to the friends this country has brought into our lives—friends who have become family. Your kindness, encouragement, and support have made this journey so much more meaningful.

Today, we celebrate one year of learning, growth, resilience, and hope. We’ve already come a long way, but I truly believe this is only the beginning.

Thank you, Canada, for opening your doors to us. Thank you, Mexico, for shaping who we are. I carry both countries in my heart. 🇲🇽❤️🇨🇦

Since then, we’ve experienced every emotion imaginable—starting over, endless paperwork, adapting to a new climate (especially those long Canadian winters!), embracing a new culture, and learning what it truly means to live in such a multicultural country.

Time has flown by. Between university, work, my business, family, and every new adventure, I honestly don’t know where the days go. 😂

This year has changed me in so many ways. I’ve discovered a strength I never knew I had, grown both personally and professionally, and felt God’s guidance and the loving protection of Our Lady of Guadalupe every step of the way.

We miss our beautiful Mexico every single day—our family, traditions, food, and hugs. But we’re also incredibly grateful for everything Canada has given us, especially the opportunity to build a brighter future for our children.

Thank you to my husband, my children, my parents, my family, and the amazing friends we’ve met here who have become our Canadian family. Your love and support have made this journey so much more meaningful.

Today my daughter made the most delicious watermelon ice cream, and it turned out amazing! The best part is that it’s a healthy, fit-friendly treat that’s so easy to make.

🍉 Freeze the watermelon.
🥛 Pour a little milk over it.
🥄 Gently scrape it with a spoon until it turns into a creamy, delicious ice cream.

It’s refreshing, healthy, and perfect for a hot summer day. But the most special ingredient was the love my daughter put into making it. ❤️
