Close your eyes for a second.

It’s 5:00 a.m. The alarm goes off and you’re already negotiating with yourself: “Let me sleep for five minutes.” 😂

Then you hear the prefect shouting, “Form Ones, wake up!” and suddenly you're in the bathroom, half-asleep, fighting for space, before rushing to assembly looking like you haven't met sleep in years.

Then there were the teachers.

That one good teacher who made you believe you could actually become something. ❤️

And then that other one. 😂 The teacher whose footsteps alone could make a whole class go silent. Someone would whisper, “Ni yeye…” and suddenly everybody is writing notes like their KCSE depended on that exact moment.

Then came the friendships.

The people you never planned to meet but somehow became your family. Sharing snacks, hiding each other's mistakes, laughing during prep, making stupid jokes in the dormitory when everyone was supposed to be asleep.

And of course… the crushes. 😂

That one person who suddenly made you care about your haircut. The eye contact during assembly. The letters. The friend who knew every detail of a relationship that technically didn't even exist. 😭

Then came the last day.

The same school you spent years complaining about suddenly felt beautiful.

You hugged teachers you thought you'd never forgive. Took photos with friends. Signed shirts. Laughed. Cried.

And everybody said, “Tutakeep in touch.”

Some did.

Most didn't.

Life happened.

University. Jobs. Bills. Marriage. Responsibilities.

And the people you saw every single day became people you now occasionally see on WhatsApp status. 😭

The funniest part? On that last day, we thought we knew exactly how our lives would turn out.

“I'll be a doctor.”

“I'll be rich by 25.”

“I'll never leave Kenya.”

😂😂😂

Life had other plans.

Some dreams came true. Some changed. Some are still loading.

But maybe that's the beauty of growing up.

We didn't know it then, but those ordinary school days were some of the memories we'd one day wish we could relive. ❤️

Maybe that's what a good perfume does too, it brings back a feeling, a person, or a moment before you even realise you've travelled there.
