DEAR AMAZING MOMS: π
SIGNS YOU SHOULD GO TO THE HOSPITAL DURING PREGNANCY! π€°π½π₯
Dear Amazing Mamas, π pregnancy is a beautiful journey, but knowing when something is wrong can make a real difference to your health and your babyβs wellbeing.
π¨ Here are important warning signs you should NEVER ignore!ππ
π©Έ 1. Vaginal Bleeding
Any bleeding during pregnancy should be reported to your healthcare provider promptly. If bleeding is heavy, or you feel faint or have severe pain, seek emergency care immediately.
π§ 2. Your Water Breaks
If you experience a gush or a continuous trickle of fluid from your va**na, contact your maternity unit and go for assessment as advised. Do not wait for contractions to begin, especially if you are less than 37 weeks pregnant.
π€ 3. Severe Headache or Blurred Vision: A severe or persistent headache, blurred vision, flashing lights, or sudden swelling of your face and hands may be signs of a serious pregnancy complication, including pre-eclampsia. Seek urgent medical assessment.
πΆ 4. Your Babyβs Movements Decrease: Once you have started feeling your baby move regularly, contact your maternity unit immediately if movements become less than usual or stop. Do not wait until the next day or rely on a home Doppler for reassurance.
π₯ 5. Severe Abdominal Pain
Severe, persistent abdominal pain or strong pain that does not settle needs urgent assessment, particularly if accompanied by bleeding, dizziness, or feeling unwell.
β° 6. Signs of Premature Labour
Before 37 weeks, regular tightening or contractions, menstrual-like cramps, pelvic pressure, persistent lower backache, or a change in va**nal discharge may indicate preterm labour. Contact your maternity unit immediately.
π‘οΈ 7. Fever or Feeling Seriously Unwell
A fever, chills, difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, or feeling suddenly very unwell during pregnancy should not be ignored. Seek prompt medical care.
𦡠8. One Leg Becomes Painful or Swollen
Pain, tenderness, warmth, or swelling in one leg may indicate a blood clot. Seek urgent medical assessment. If you also experience chest pain or sudden difficulty breathing, call emergency services immediately.
π¨ 9. Seizures, Fainting, or Severe Difficulty Breathing
These are emergencies. Call emergency services immediately rather than driving yourself to the hospital.
Amazing Moms, please remember: π
Do not wait for your next antenatal appointment if you develop a warning sign. It is always better to seek medical advice promptly than to ignore a symptom that may need urgent attention.
Your health matters. Your baby matters. Never feel embarrassed about seeking help when something does not feel right. π€°π½π

Don't Skip Your Antenatal Visits! π€°π½πΆπ½
Especially if this is your first pregnancy, regular antenatal care is an important part of keeping you and your baby safe throughout your pregnancy. πΈ
Here are some important reasons why you should keep your appointments: ππ
π©Ί 1. Your health is monitored
Your blood pressure, weight, urine and overall wellbeing can be checked regularly.
πΆπ½ 2. Your babyβs growth is monitored. Your healthcare provider can follow your babyβs growth and development and assess how your pregnancy is progressing.
π 3. Problems can be detected early. Some pregnancy complications may develop without obvious symptoms at first. Regular visits help your healthcare team identify concerns early and decide what care you may need.
π 4. Important tests and supplements can be discussed
Your provider can advise you about recommended tests, vitamins, medications, vaccinations and other care based on your individual pregnancy.
π¬ 5. You can ask questions
No question is too small! Your antenatal visits are an opportunity to discuss your symptoms, nutrition, babyβs movements, birth plans, breastfeeding and anything that concerns you.
π· 6. You can prepare for birth and motherhood
Antenatal care helps you understand what to expect as pregnancy progresses and prepares you for labour, delivery, breastfeeding and newborn care.
Remember, mama: feeling well does not mean you should skip your appointments. Keeping your antenatal visits helps you stay informed and gives your healthcare team the opportunity to monitor both you and your baby.
π Your pregnancy deserves attention at every stage.

The first trimester is an exciting time, but it can also bring many questions. These simple steps can help you get started: π
1οΈβ£ Book your first antenatal appointment
Contact your healthcare provider early so your pregnancy can be assessed and your care plan established.

5οΈβ£ Avoid alcohol, smoking and unapproved medicines or supplements
Before taking any medication, herbal product or supplement during pregnancy, check with your healthcare provider.
π¨ Know when to seek help:
