Years ago, I had a client who came in for a massage alone. She shared that she and her late husband used to visit the spa together as a ritual of love and self-care.Continuing that ritual on her own became part of her healing journey.

That day, I was carrying my own sadness too. As I worked on her, she opened up about her grief. I slowed down, listened, and before I knew it, we were both in tears.

At the end of the session, she thanked me for seeing her, hearing her, and sharing in her pain. She said she would never forget that day.

Neither have I.

Moments like these remind me why I chose this path. Massage has never been just about muscles, knots, or relaxation. Sometimes people come to the table carrying grief, loneliness, stress, and stories too heavy to hold alone.

This is why I fiercely protect the integrity of my profession. My work is not sexual. It is healing. It is care. It is human connection. It is creating a safe space where someone can exhale, feel seen, and begin to heal.

This is why I do what I do. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
