Have you ever noticed tiny white or pale dots on your lips? đź‘„
They’re called Fordyce spots — and they’re incredibly common, completely harmless and nothing to be embarrassed about.
Fordyce spots are simply visible sebaceous (oil) glands. They can sometimes appear more noticeable when there is less natural pigment in certain areas of the lips, creating a pale or slightly patchy appearance.
And this is where Lip Blush can make such a beautiful difference.
Lip Blush doesn’t remove or treat Fordyce spots — they’re still there. Instead, by carefully adding colour to the surrounding lip tissue, we can reduce the contrast, restore more even-looking colour and make the spots far less noticeable.
This lovely client had visible Fordyce spots alongside areas where her natural lip colour was uneven. The photos show her lips before treatment, immediately after, healed, and following her top-up.
What I love most is that the end result doesn’t look like she’s had her lips “tattooed”. They simply look healthier, fresher and more even in colour — which is always my goal. 🤍
If you’ve noticed similar little pale spots on your own lips, you’re definitely not alone. And while they don’t need treating, if the uneven colour bothers you, Lip Blush may be something worth considering.
Natural lips. Just with a little more colour and definition. đź‘„

A slightly different post from me today🤍
These are a few little moments I captured while I was recently in Poland. I turned them black and white and, somehow, they felt like the perfect photographs to accompany something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.
The way we speak to ourselves.
I recently wrote a blog called When Did You Become So Hard on Yourself? and I honestly didn’t expect the response it received.
I’ve had some beautiful messages from women who recognised themselves in it, and when I looked at the website statistics, I realised just how many people had quietly gone over to read it too.
Perhaps that’s because so many of us do this.
We give kindness, patience and understanding so freely to the people we love, yet somehow find it much harder to offer the same to ourselves.
I’m learning this too.
And maybe that’s why this particular piece means a little more to me than some of the others I’ve written.
So if you’ve ever stood in front of the mirror and immediately looked for what’s wrong…
If you’re kinder to your friends than you are to yourself…
Or if you’ve simply forgotten what it feels like to be on your own side…
I’d love you to read it🤍
When Did You Become So Hard on Yourself?
You can find the full article through the link in my bio (https://www.meraki-beauty.uk/post/when-did-you-become-so-hard-on-yourself)
And perhaps afterwards, ask yourself just one thing:
If I were my own best friend, what would I say to myself today? 🤍

“Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the treatment… it’s taking the plunge.” ❤️
Lauren had been thinking about microblading for two years before finally booking her appointment.
Like many women, she dreamed of waking up with brows that looked naturally fuller and beautifully framed her face, without needing makeup every morning.
But here’s something we don’t often talk about…
Even when you’ve wanted something for a long time, seeing a different version of yourself in the mirror for the very first time can feel emotional.
The day after her appointment, Lauren sent me this:
“It is a huge change and was always going to take time to adjust! It was a big step and I finally wanted to feel more confident and comfortable with no make-up. Everyone loves them and I’m getting used to loving them too.” ❤️
I asked Lauren if I could share her words because I think they’re so important.
If you’re considering microblading, please know that it’s completely normal for it to take a little time to adjust to seeing your new brows.
Freshly treated brows are always darker and more defined immediately after treatment. Over the next few weeks they’ll soften beautifully as they heal, and then at your top-up we can make any little refinements needed to ensure you’re completely happy.
My aim has never been to give anyone someone else’s eyebrows.
It’s to create brows that look like they could have always been yours.
Soft.
Natural.
Beautifully balanced.
And designed to give you the confidence to feel like the best version of yourself—even on makeup-free days.
Thank you, Lauren, for trusting me after waiting so long. It was such a pleasure meeting you, and thank you for allowing me to share your journey in the hope that it reassures someone else who may be feeling nervous about taking that first step. ❤️
Shared with my client’s kind permission.

What would you do if you turned up to work… and your employer said:
“Actually, we’ve decided we’re not paying you today.”
Most people would be shocked.
But for many small business owners, that’s exactly what it feels like when a client cancels at the last minute or simply doesn’t turn up.
Over the past month, cancelled appointments have cost my business ÂŁ1,550.
And if I’m completely honest…
A lot of that is my own doing.
For a long time, I’ve trusted people and often booked appointments without taking a deposit. I wanted to make booking as easy as possible because I genuinely believed people would honour their appointments.
The truth is, most of my clients absolutely do ❤️.
But I’ve realised that trust alone isn’t enough to protect a small business.
Every appointment in my diary is time I’ve reserved specifically for one person. More often than not, I’ve turned someone else away to keep that slot available. When it’s cancelled at the last minute, it’s usually impossible to fill.
As a small business owner, I don’t receive sick pay, holiday pay or a guaranteed monthly salary. My income depends entirely on the appointments in my diary.
That’s why, from now on, all appointments will require a booking deposit.
Not because I expect the worst from people.
Not because I want to make booking more difficult.
But because deposits aren’t a penalty.
They’re protection.
They protect the time I’ve reserved, the business I’ve worked so hard to build, and the livelihood that supports my family.
Life happens, and I completely understand that genuine emergencies arise. I’ll always do my best to be fair and understanding wherever I can.
But I also have to protect my business.
To every client who turns up, gives plenty of notice if plans change, and respects my time as much as I respect yours…
Thank you 🤍
Your loyalty, kindness and trust are the reason Meraki continues to grow, and I never take that for granted.

The best results are often the ones nobody notices...
Not because they don’t make a difference.
But because they look so natural that people simply think you look refreshed.
That was exactly our goal with this beautiful client.
She didn’t want bold brows.
She didn’t want dramatic brows.
She simply wanted to replace what time had gradually taken away.
A little more shape.
A little more definition.
A little more fullness.
Nothing that would change her face.
Just enough to softly frame her eyes again.
Sometimes people worry that Microblading will make them look “too done.”
But when it’s carefully designed around your own facial features, skin and natural brow pattern, the result shouldn’t look like someone else’s brows.
It should simply look like you... on your best day.
That’s always my aim.
Natural.
Timeless.
Effortless.
If you’ve been considering Microblading but you’re worried the result will be too dark or too obvious, why not start with a no-obligation consultation?
We can chat through your concerns, assess whether you’re suitable, and create a treatment plan that’s completely tailored to you.
Because the best brows never steal the attention—they simply bring harmony to your face.

Sometimes the smallest change can make the biggest difference 🤍
When Katherine first got in touch with me, she told me she’d been thinking about having her brows done for a long time.
Like so many women I meet, she wasn’t looking for a dramatic transformation.
She simply wanted her brows to look a little fuller, a little more defined, while still looking completely natural.
One of the messages she sent me before booking was:
“I’m just worried about them looking too harsh or dark. Is there a way to subtly fill them in where they are sparse?”
My answer was exactly the same as it always is:
Absolutely.
Because my goal has never been to create “perfect” brows.
My goal is to create brows that look like they could have always been yours.
After her appointment she messaged me:
“Thank you so much, I love my brows and I’m looking forward to seeing how they look in a few days.”
And later she told me something that meant even more:
“I really love the eyebrows so much.”
Looking at these photos, I don’t just see beautiful brows.
I see a woman smiling with a little more confidence.
And that’s why I love what I do.
If you’ve been thinking about Microblading but you’re worried they’ll look too dark, too bold or “too done”, please know that your first appointment doesn’t have to be the treatment itself.
You’re very welcome to book a no-obligation consultation where we can chat through all of your questions, assess your skin and existing brows, and decide together whether Microblading is the right option for you.
Sometimes the consultation ends with a booking.
Sometimes it doesn’t.
Either way, you’ll leave with honest advice and a much clearer understanding of what would work best for you.
Natural brows.
No pressure.
Just you, with a little more confidence 🤍

“What if they don’t look like me anymore?”
That was one of my client’s biggest concerns.
She first came to see me back in January for a consultation. Like so many women, she had spent months thinking about having her brows done but kept putting it off because she was worried they would look too dark, too harsh or simply… too obvious.
Her goal wasn’t to have “Instagram brows.”
She just wanted to wake up looking like the best version of herself—with brows that looked naturally fuller and more defined.
After taking the time to discuss everything, answer all of her questions and carefully assess whether Microblading was the right treatment for her, she finally felt ready.
And this weekend… we did it 💕
Seeing her Google review afterwards honestly made my day:
“I absolutely love my microbladed brows! They’ve made such a huge difference to my confidence… I was especially worried about how the brows would show up on my darker skin tone, but Sylvia was so knowledgeable and reassuring throughout the whole process.”
This is exactly why I never rush anyone into booking.
If you’re considering semi-permanent brows but still have questions…
✨ Will they suit my face?
✨ Am I even a suitable candidate?
✨ Will they look natural?
✨ What if I don’t like them?
…please know that you don’t have to make that decision today.
A consultation is completely no obligation. It’s simply an opportunity for us to sit down together, discuss your concerns, assess your skin and existing brows, and decide whether Microblading—or perhaps another technique—would be the best option for you.
Sometimes the answer is yes.
Sometimes it’s not yet.
And sometimes I may recommend a completely different treatment.
My priority has always been to do what’s right for you, not to convince you to book.
So if you’ve been thinking about your brows for weeks, months—or even years—why not simply start with a conversation?
I’d love to meet you 💕

“What lipstick are you wearing? It hasn’t moved all day!”
One of my lovely Lip Blush clients recently came back from holiday and told me the sweetest story.
Whilst she was away, someone asked her what lipstick she was using because it looked perfect all day... even after spending time in the swimming pool.
The answer?
She wasn’t wearing any. 💋
That’s exactly why I love Lip Blush.
It’s not about bright colours or obvious permanent makeup. It’s about restoring the natural colour and definition that many of us lose over time, so your lips always look healthy, fresh and beautifully balanced.
No worrying about reapplying lipstick.
No faded lip line.
Just naturally beautiful lips from the moment you wake up.
These are my client’s healed results after her top-up treatment, and I couldn’t be happier with how beautifully they’ve settled.
If you’ve been thinking about Lip Blush but want something subtle and elegant, I’d love to chat.

“So nice to have a lip!! 👄🤩”
This was Kelly’s message to me after her treatment… and honestly, this is exactly what Lip Blush is all about 💛
It’s not just about adding colour — it’s about restoring shape, balance, and definition.
Many people have some degree of lip asymmetry, and with careful mapping and placement, it’s possible to subtly enhance the natural shape and create a more even, harmonious result ✨
No filler.
No overdone look.
Just your lips… but better 💋
The colour will soften beautifully as it heals for a more natural finish.
I currently have one introductory Lip Blush appointment available — message me “LIPS” if you’d like more info 💌
