Why did I choose to create a completely private, one-to-one salon?

One of the things I hear time and time again is that clients don’t enjoy being passed between different people during an appointment — one person colouring, another shampooing, another cutting — or having their stylist move between several clients while they wait. Regardless of it being maybe 2 clients or many more..

I wanted to create something different... special x
At Fiona Cooper Lifestyle, your appointment is your time with me. From your consultation through to your finished result, you have my undivided attention in a beautiful, private setting.
Behind the scenes, the last 18 months have been incredibly busy. Alongside continuing to work, I’ve been dealing with:
Planning, Building Regulations, fire regulations, Part M accessibility requirements and a huge amount of work and investment in the salon. I’ve also continued my education, completing numerous additional and extended qualifications ready for the specialist services I’m bringing to Fiona Cooper Lifestyle.
That’s also why I haven’t always been able to post or update everyone as much as I would have liked. There has been so much happening quietly behind the scenes.
I’m only recently back from Milan & Barbados and, between catching up with work and recovering from the travelling, I’m not quite ready to sit in front of the camera and tell you everything properly just yet!
But I will. I PROMISE ✨️

A personal video from me is coming very soon, where I’ll tell you much more about this journey, what’s coming next and what I’ve been working on.
Then, once the last finishing touches are complete, I’ll be sharing the full salon reveal — and thanking the many people who have helped me get here.

I don't get the chance to post many hair transformations these days as most of my time is being spent creating my new salon and clinic. But every now and then, a transformation comes along that I simply have to share.
This lovely client completely embraced a fresh new look with a beautiful blonde transformation and a total restyle. Seeing her smile when she looked in the mirror reminded me exactly why I've loved this profession for over 36 years.

For those of you who have been wondering why I've been so quiet on social media for many months , here's why...
Over the past year, my life has been completely taken over by the creation of my new Fiona Cooper Lifestyle Salon & Clinic. It has been one of the biggest projects I've ever undertaken, requiring an enormous investment of time, hard work and money, and we're still putting the final finishing touches in place.
From the very beginning, my vision wasn't simply to create a salon. I wanted to create a professional salon and clinic that puts my clients' comfort, safety and experience first. Every stage of the project has been carried out in line with the relevant building regulations, fire safety requirements and other standards to ensure the premises are safe, compliant and of the highest possible standard.
I would like to sincerely thank the council for all of their guidance and support throughout this journey, together with the fantastic tradespeople who have worked so hard to help bring my vision to life. I will give personal thanks when I put up my long awaited post once all is completed.
Hairdressing has been my passion since I was 15 years old, and after nearly 37 years of working, teaching and training at the highest level within the industry, I still believe that learning never stops. I believe in continually investing in my education so that I can offer my clients the very latest techniques, knowledge and services.
Following my latest advanced training, I now hold 40 professional hairdressing qualifications and industry awards. Remarkably, 19 of those qualifications and awards have been achieved within the last four and a half years alone. I am committed to continually developing my skills, and I am always happy to show clients my portfolio, qualifications and training history. I will have a lot of them on my salon / clinic walls to show.
Over the coming months, I'll also be introducing exciting new specialist services, including one treatment system that I'm incredibly proud to be bringing to Wales. I'll share much more about that very soon.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm incredibly meticulous. Every detail has been carefully considered because I want every client to enjoy a genuine five-star experience from the moment they walk through the door.
This reel is simply a little glimpse of what has been happening behind the scenes. There are still a few final jobs to complete before everything is finished, but I wanted to let you know why I've been so quiet and to thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey.
