6 YEARS. No lash breaks. And yesterday I finally had my extensions removed…

I’ll admit it — I was a little nervous to see what was underneath after wearing lash extensions continuously for SIX YEARS.

But just look at my natural lashes.

Yes, they’re short… but here’s the thing: they were short before I ever started wearing extensions!

What I’m most impressed by is just how FULL they still are.

And I wanted to share this because there’s still such a misconception that:

“Lash extensions ruin your natural lashes.”

They don’t have to.

When extensions are applied correctly, maintained correctly and professionally removed by a properly trained lash technician, your natural lashes should always be respected and protected.

It’s when lashes are overloaded, poorly isolated, incorrectly applied, picked at or improperly removed that you can run into problems.

After six years of extensions, seeing myself with my own lashes again feels VERY strange 😂 but I’m actually really excited for this next little beauty journey.

For now, I’m embracing my natural lashes and giving them lots of TLC… ❤️

AND I’m so excited to try the new Korean lash lift in a few weeks!

I cannot wait to see what a Korean lash lift can do with my little natural lashes.

Chapter 2 – Embracing Education 🎓✨

“Knowledge is power, and education is the key to transformation.”

At just 19 years old, I decided to take my passion for beauty one step further and began my teacher training.

Over the next four years, I dedicated myself to learning and developing as an educator, earning a Certificate in Education and a BA (Hons) in Inclusive Practice and Education.

While studying, I was also teaching beauty therapy part-time and working with some of the UK’s leading beauty brands. I was learning from both sides of the industry gaining the academic knowledge behind education while continuing to develop my practical experience within beauty.

And somewhere along that journey, something clicked.

I realised my true calling wasn’t only working in beauty. It was empowering other people through beauty education. 💗

I saw first hand how learning a new skill could build someone’s confidence, open doors and completely change the direction of their life.

That belief would eventually become the heart of Next Step Beauty using education to give people the skills, confidence and support to create new opportunities for themselves. Today, empowerment through beauty education remains at the centre of everything we do.

Looking back, those four years weren’t simply about gaining qualifications. They were laying the foundations for something much bigger than I could have imagined at the time.

And my journey was only just beginning… 💫

📖 CHAPTER ONE — THE PASSION

“Every brand has a beginning. This is ours.”

Before there was Next Step Beauty, there was simply a young girl with a passion for beauty and absolutely no idea where that passion would eventually take her.

My journey began when I was just 16 years old.

I enrolled at City College Norwich, where I completed my NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Beauty Therapy.

I loved everything about the beauty industry the treatments, the transformation, meeting clients and, most importantly, the confidence you could give someone through something you had learnt to do with your own hands.

After college, I was eager to get out into the real world and gain experience, so I began working in a busy spa environment.

And this is really where my education began.

I learnt about treatments, clients and what it actually meant to work in the beauty industry every single day.

But looking back now, I was learning something much bigger too.

I was beginning to understand the difference that good training, practical experience and confidence could make to someone’s future.

At 16, I couldn’t possibly have known that those early experiences would one day help shape an education company that would go on to train beauty students across the country.

There was no grand business plan.

There was no Next Step Beauty.

Not yet.

There was simply a passion for an industry I loved… and a determination to see where it could take me.

And as it turned out, this was only the very beginning. 💗

It has always been about people.

About giving someone the confidence to say, “I can do this.”

About helping someone discover a skill they love.

About seeing students take that skill and turn it into clients, a business, a new career and, for some, a completely different life.

Today, Next Step Beauty has grown into a community of beauty professionals, students and entrepreneurs — but every story has a beginning.

And ours started with one simple belief…

Beauty education could change lives.

I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 22 years, and honestly, I still love it just as much as I did when I first started.
