Don’t just take my word for it 👀

This is the part of the job that never gets old, not just the treatments themselves, but the moment someone realises their skin isn’t working against them anymore.

If you’re ready for that same shift, I’d love to hear what you’re currently struggling with, send me a DM 💕

Every new breakout felt like two problems instead of one.

First, you’re dealing with the spot itself. Then, just as it finally starts to heal, you’re left with a dark mark that can stick around for months.

That’s exactly where she was.

She was unhappy with her skin, trying different products and doing what she thought would help — but without really understanding what her skin needed, she was stuck in the cycle of breakout → dark mark → another breakout.

She didn’t just want clearer skin.

She wanted to look in the mirror and feel confident again.

When she came to TBS, we took the guesswork out of it. We created a homecare routine specifically for her skin and combined it with consistent treatments targeting both her breakouts and the pigmentation they were leaving behind.

Now? Her skin is clearer, her dark marks have faded significantly and, most importantly, she feels like herself again 🤎

Because the goal was never just better skin.

It was getting her confidence back.

Save this for your next microneedling appointment 🤎

Before you panic — your skin looking darker after microneedling does not automatically mean you’ve developed hyperpigmentation.

You’re only a few days post-treatment and suddenly your skin looks duller, darker or less even than before. It can be easy to think, “Have I made my pigmentation worse?”

In many cases, what you’re seeing is simply part of the temporary healing process.

The biggest thing? Don’t panic and start trying to “fix” it.

❌ Don’t reach for your acids

❌ Don’t start exfoliating the dryness away

❌ Don’t introduce strong brightening products

❌ Don’t pick or peel any flaking skin

Follow your aftercare, keep your routine gentle, wear your SPF and give your skin time to heal.

Your skin in the healing stage is not your final result.

If you’re ever concerned about how your skin is healing after a professional treatment, speak to your treating practitioner rather than trying to correct it yourself.

Your bathroom shelf is full of products… but if I asked you why you’re using each one, would you actually know? 👀

You bought one for the breakouts.

Another one because someone said it fades dark marks.

You saw something on TikTok and added that too.

Then your skin started acting up, so you stopped everything and started again.

Sound familiar? 😂

The problem isn’t that you don’t care about your skin. You’ve probably spent a lot of money trying to fix it.

You’re just guessing.

And when you’re dealing with breakouts, pigmentation, texture or congestion, constantly throwing something new at your skin can leave you right back where you started.

Your skin doesn’t need you to try harder.

It needs a strategy.

What are we treating first?

What actually belongs in your routine?

What needs to come out?

Which treatments make sense for your skin?

And what are we working towards over the next few months?

That’s the difference between having skincare products and actually having a skin plan.

There’s a handful of things I check for on melanated skin that most generic protocols completely skip 👀

1. How the skin actually responds to inflammation, not just what caused it.
2. I’m looking at how the skin heals, not just how it looks right now.
3. I’m checking undertone and how pigment actually presents

This isn’t a ‘special case.’ It’s a different lens, and every corrective specialist should have it!

She didn’t just want clearer skin. She wanted to stop thinking about her skin all the time!

When she first came to us, she felt like she had tried everything 😩

Different products. Different advice. Trying to figure out what her skin needed on her own, only to still wake up to new breakouts and feel like nothing was changing.

And when you’re struggling with acne, it can affect so much more than your skin.

It’s avoiding certain lighting.

Reaching for makeup because you don’t feel comfortable without it.

Looking at everyone else’s skin and wondering, “Why can’t mine just be clear?”

Feeling your mood drop when another breakout appears.

So we stopped guessing.

We customised her homecare routine around her skin and committed to monthly treatments, adjusting what we were doing as her skin progressed.

And slowly, her skin changed ✨

But my favourite part of this transformation isn’t just the before and after.

It’s her telling us how much more confident she feels. How much her mood has changed. How she barely wears makeup anymore because she finally feels comfortable in her own skin.

That’s the transformation we care about! Because sometimes clearer skin gives you back a part of yourself you didn’t realise you’d lost💖

BUY OR BIN IT 👀 Vrial skincare edition part 2

Let’s talk about who these products actually make sense for, because a “good” product isn’t automatically good for your skin.

Rhode Glazing Milk — BUY ✅

If your skin suddenly feels tight, sensitive or products that never bothered you before are starting to sting, your barrier may need some extra support. This is one we’d reach for when the goal is hydration + helping support a compromised barrier.

Dr Sam’s Moisturiser — BUY or BIN 🤷🏾‍♀️

Dry, dehydrated skin that still feels tight after moisturising? BUY The richer texture can help when your skin needs more moisture and support.

Very oily or congestion-prone? BIN— you may find a lighter moisturiser suits your skin better.

GlyMed Oxygen Cream — BUY ✅

Skin looking dull, stressed or feeling like it needs a little more support? We love this one for helping calm and support the skin while giving it that healthier-looking glow.

La Roche-Posay Barrier Cream — BUY ✅

Overdone the actives? Skin burning, stinging, peeling or suddenly reacting to everything you put on it? Put the exfoliants down!!! This is the kind of product we’d introduce while focusing on calming and supporting the barrier.

KrX Cica Recovery Cream — BUY ✅

If your skin is dry, dehydrated, sensitive or recovering from irritation, this is a good one to have in your routine. Especially when your skin feels like it needs comfort rather than another active.

LED Masks — BUY… with conditions ✅

Dealing with breakouts, inflammation or wanting to support overall skin health? LED can be a great addition — but the device matters! We’re not buying a mask just because it lights up. 😂 It needs appropriate wavelengths and sufficient output to actually be worth the investment.

Your turn 👇🏾 What product have you been wondering whether to BUY or BIN?

Head to my story to submit more products into the question box 👀 And make sure to save this post to come back to!

If your makeup never looks quite as smooth as you want it to, this might be the reason why 👀

Spoiler: the problem isn’t your makeup at all! It’s what your makeup is sitting on.

A buildup of dead skin and fine vellus hair can make the surface of your skin look less smooth, and makeup can make that texture even more noticeable. That’s where dermaplaning makes such a difference.

Dermaplanning works to gently remove surface dead skin and fine vellus hair, leaving your skin instantly smoother and brighter, and creating a smoother base for your makeup.

The best part? There’s minimal to no downtime and the difference is visible straight away.

If you’ve been blaming your makeup when your skin might actually need some attention, comment ‘TEXTURE’ and I’ll let you know if dermaplaning is right for your skin.

Your skin is begging you to stop …

Switching products every time you don’t see results in a week — It’s not failing you, you’re just not giving it time to work. Skin needs weeks to actually respond, not days, so constantly restarting means you never get far enough in to see if something was working at all.

Layering five actives at once ‘just in case.’ — That’s not skincare, that’s an overwhelmed barrier waiting to react. Actives compete and compound, and stacking too many at once is one of the most common reasons for sudden sensitivity, redness and breakouts that seem to come from nowhere.

Picking at breakouts because they’re satisfying to squeeze — That satisfaction lasts a minute, the mark it leaves can last months. Forcing a spot before it’s ready pushes trauma deeper into the skin, and that trauma is exactly what turns into the dark mark you’ll be dealing with long after the spot itself is gone.

Skipping SPF because ‘it’s cloudy’ or ‘my makeup has SPF in it’ — Pigmentation doesn’t check the weather. UV rays pe*****te cloud cover, and makeup rarely contains anywhere near the amount of SPF needed for real protection, so unprotected days add up faster than people think.

Letting TikTok decide which skincare you should use — Advice that works for someone else’s skin, concerns and history isn’t automatically right for yours, and following it blind is how good skin ends up more irritated, not better.

Sleeping in makeup after a night out because you’re tired — Overnight is when your skin repairs itself, and doing that under a layer of makeup and bacteria is one of the fastest ways to trigger breakouts you’ll be treating for weeks.

Skipping your skincare because you ‘cba’ — Consistency is the entire foundation of results, and the nights you skip are usually the ones that quietly undo the progress you’ve been building.

Your skin isn’t difficult, it’s just been asking for consistency, not more products. Book a consultation, link in bio.
