Friends become family ❤️

This lovely lady has been our neighbour for over 20 years, but over those years she’s become so much more than a neighbour. She’s my son’s second gran and a very special part of our lives.

Recently, she went through an incredibly difficult time. I was heartbroken when I had to make the decision to phone an ambulance because I could see she just wasn’t herself. Seeing her in hospital, getting worse and then slowly getting better, was incredibly hard. There were times we didn’t know if she would ever come back home.

But she did. ❤️

And we’ll continue to check in, take her food, have a cuppa and make sure she knows she’s not alone.

It’s moments like these that remind me that kindness really does matter. You don’t have to be related to someone to love them, care for them or be there when they need you.

Friends become family, and neighbours become friends.

And maybe that’s what life is really about looking out for one another❤️

From our little salon community to yours, be kind, check in, and never underestimate how much simply being there can mean.

Feeling incredibly grateful to have been invited to be part of such a special evening.

To be in a room with 50 truly inspirational women was both humbling and uplifting. Listening to their stories, their resilience, courage, kindness and life experiences left me with so much admiration. Every single woman had a story worth telling, and I felt privileged to be among them.

It was also so lovely to catch up with so many familiar faces from the hospice. I had the pleasure of sitting with Baillie and sharing a few laughs with , Carla Cavanias well as seeing all the wonderful café staff again. It really made the evening even more special.

What made the evening even more meaningful was that, at Hillary’s request, there were no presents or gifts just donations to the Ladies Night for Prince and Princess Wales.

What an incredibly thoughtful gesture. It says so much about the kind of person she is.

Harris , thank you for opening your beautiful, warm and welcoming home to us all. It reflected your own kindness so perfectly. Having recently retired from the hospice café, you continue to make such a difference to those around you. You were a wonderful host, and the whole evening was filled with warmth, laughter and generosity.

I came away feeling inspired, grateful and reminded of the strength that exists when women support one another. Thank you again, Hillary, for such a memorable evening. I feel very lucky to have been included. ❤️

What a truly special evening. 💖

It was such an honour to be invited by Hillary to her home, where she brought together 50 incredible women she has met over the years. A room full of inspiring, interesting, warm and accomplished ladies, many meeting for the very first time.

The atmosphere was so welcoming, with wonderful food, flowing conversation, plenty of laughter and a beautiful selection of delicious desserts that looked every bit as good as they tasted! 🍰🧁 They were the perfect finishing touch to a memorable evening.

Even more special was that everyone donated to the hospice instead of bringing anything else. Such a thoughtful way to bring people together while supporting such an important cause.

Thank you, Hillary, for your kindness, generosity and for creating such a wonderful evening. It was a privilege to be included, and I left feeling inspired by the amazing women I had the pleasure of meeting. Here’s to friendship, community and women supporting women. 💖

Today, like every day, I had the pleasure of seeing Kirsty at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
Today she handed me one of Azeem’s paintings and asked if I could take it home. It was such a special moment.

Azeem has muscular dystrophy, but that has never defined him. He creates his artwork using his body, proving that creativity has no limits.

Through his creativity, Azeem has also built Equal Clothing a brand inspired by his belief in Mind Over Ability.

It’s about changing the way we see disability. Ability isn’t about what people see on the outside; it’s a mindset. When we focus on possibilities instead of limitations, amazing things can happen.

Thank you, Kirsty, for always supporting Azeem and believing in his journey. Small acts of kindness like this mean so much to our family. ❤️🎨

What a lovely afternoon today at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice Volunteer Afternoon Tea. ☕🍰💙

It was wonderful to spend time with fellow volunteers, enjoy some delicious cakes and treats, and celebrate the incredible contribution volunteers make to the hospice community.

I was truly touched and honoured to receive a 7-Year Volunteer Service Award in recognition of my volunteering journey. Volunteering has been such a rewarding experience, and I am grateful to have been able to support an organisation that does such amazing work for patients and families across Glasgow.

A special mention to my fellow volunteer therapist and friend, Sheena, who I have had the pleasure of getting to know over the years. It’s people like Sheena and all the other dedicated volunteers who make volunteering such a positive and meaningful experience.

Thank you to everyone at the hospice for organising such a lovely event and for making all the volunteers feel so appreciated. Receiving this award means a great deal to me, and I look forward to continuing to support this wonderful charity.

💙 Here’s to many more years of volunteering, friendship, and making a difference.gordon
