Free delivery over £75: here's how to make it count
Getting to free delivery is easier than you'd think once you plan your order a bit.
Our jars of raw, unpasteurised honey come straight from hive to jar with nothing added and nothing taken away, so building a stash makes sense anyway. Mix in a jar of heather honey (thick, distinctive, and packed with antioxidants) with some beeswax food wraps and a soothing balm, and you're there before you know it.
Gift sets are a smart way to reach the threshold too, especially with Christmas creeping closer. Sorted presents and a free delivery in one go.
Keeping deliveries fuller also means fewer vans on the road and less packaging overall, which suits us fine.
What would you add to your basket first, honey, honeycomb, or something for the skin?

Buying honey online? Ask these first
A lot of honey on supermarket shelves has been heated, filtered, and blended from multiple countries before it even reaches the jar. That's worth knowing before you buy online.
Here's what's worth asking any honey seller:
Is it raw and unpasteurised? Heating honey past a certain point strips out the natural enzymes and pollen that make it worth eating in the first place.
Where exactly are the hives? "Local" should mean a place, not a label. Ours sit across the Brecon Beacons and Usk Valley.
What's actually in the jar? At Llangattock Apiaries, it's honey and nothing else, straight from hive to jar.
Our heather honey is a good example: thick, distinctive in flavour, and naturally high in antioxidants. That's the kind of detail you should be able to get a straight answer on.

Get your garden ready, help bees through winter
October is when your garden either sets bees up for winter or leaves them short. Here in the Usk Valley we're already seeing colonies cluster up as the nights draw in, and what's left flowering now matters more than people think.
Leave any ivy alone. It's one of the last big nectar sources before winter and bees rely on it heavily this month.
Hold off cutting back seed heads until spring. They shelter overwintering insects, and a tidy border in October often means fewer pollinators next April.
If you've got a sunny corner, autumn-flowering crocus and sedum give bees a late top-up when little else is available.
We keep our Buckfast colonies along the river banks below the Black Mountains, and the difference a bee-friendly autumn garden makes to their winter stores is real. What's still flowering in your garden this week?
Have a browse of our honey and hive products while you're at it, every jar sold helps us keep more colonies going through the colder months.

Autumn's the best time to stock up on heather honey
Heather honey only happens once a year. Our bees forage it from the heather blooming on the slopes above the Usk Valley in late summer, and once that flowering's done, that's it until next year.
It's thicker than our other honeys, with a deep amber colour and a flavour you won't mistake for anything else.
It's also packed with phenolic compounds (antioxidants that help protect your cells from everyday wear and tear) plus manganese for bone health and tissue repair. Traditionally, people have used it to settle digestive troubles like reflux and gastritis too.
Stocks are limited once this year's batch is gone, so if you like to keep a jar on the go through fussy winter, now's the time.
Fancy trying it in tea versus straight off the spoon this year? 🍯

Gift set mistakes that waste your money this Christmas
With Christmas gift buying starting soon, it's worth knowing what separates a proper honey gift set from a supermarket box of disappointment.
Mistake one: picking a set with only one type of honey. Our 4 Jar Gift Set gives you Honey, Honey with Nuts, Bee Pollen and Honeycomb, so there's variety in flavour and texture, not just repetition.
Mistake two: ignoring where the honey actually comes from. Ours is gathered by bees working the wildflowers and heather along the Usk Valley and the Black Mountains, nothing added, nothing taken away.
Mistake three: forgetting the little extras that make a gift feel considered. Our jar, candle and wooden drizzler set at £12.95 does exactly that.
If you're buying for someone who's never tried raw Welsh honey before, what would you want them to taste first: the heather, or the forest honey made from honeydew?

What real Welsh honey actually costs, and why
A jar of raw honey should cost more than the stuff on the supermarket shelf, and there's a good reason for it. Ours comes straight from hive to jar with nothing added and nothing taken away, no heating, no filtering out the good bits.
Our Hawthorn Honey (227g) is £7.00, a dark amber honey with a slightly nutty flavour. Heather Honey (340g) is £9.50 and worth every penny for its thick texture and concentrated antioxidant content. Fancy something different? Our Chilli Infused Honey (227g) at £7.50 brings proper heat to a cheeseboard or a marinade.
If you're after a gift, the Llangattock Honey Gift Box Set (four jars plus a jar of pollen) is £19.95, and orders over £75 get free delivery.
Which one would you reach for first, the heather or the chilli?

Heather honey or wildflower: which one's for you?
Both come from the same hives here at Llangattock, but they're not interchangeable.
Our heather honey is thick, deep amber, and packed with phenolic antioxidants that help protect your cells from everyday wear and tear. It's got real antibacterial punch too, which is why people use it on minor wounds as well as in their tea. Traditionally it's been used to settle digestive troubles like reflux and gastritis.
Wildflower honey is lighter and milder, gathered from nectar along the Usk riverbanks and up on the Black Mountain slopes. Nothing added, nothing taken away. Good for everyday spooning onto porridge or into a marinade.
If you're after something with a bit more depth for skin or gut health, heather's your jar. If you want an all-rounder for the kitchen, wildflower does the job beautifully.
Which one's missing from your cupboard right now?
