💪 STRENGTH TRAINING: INVEST IN YOUR FUTURE SELF
Strength training isn’t just about how you look it’s about how you feel, move and function as you get older.
Especially during perimenopause and menopause, building and maintaining muscle is important for strength, bone health, physical function and healthy ageing.
You don’t have to lift the heaviest weights or spend hours in the gym. Start where you are, build gradually and focus on consistency. Every step counts! 💚
Remember: Muscle is your pension. 💪

Your health is an investment, not an expense. Let’s get started!
13 months of studying with MNU, putting my heart and soul into learning nutrition, behaviour change and sustainable habits. 💚
But one of my biggest lessons was realising that, somewhere along the way, I’d been putting everyone else first and neglecting myself.
I wasn’t eating enough, hydrating enough or giving myself the downtime I needed to recover and reflect.
As Martin taught us, it’s about coaching people to LIVE 💚creating habits that fit real life and are sustainable for as long as our goals require.
So, no more “I’ll start Monday”! 💪🏼
My goals are simple:
🏋🏼♀️ Train four times a week, flexibly.
🥗 Food prep weekly.
💧 Prioritise hydration and fuelling my body.
💚Enjoy weekends, family, friends and downtime without guilt.
I’ve learned that missing one opportunity doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It’s about consistency over perfection and building habits that last.
Now it’s time to put my own learning into practice, rebuild my strength and put myself back on the list so I can continue showing up for my clients, too. 💚
Small habits. Real life. Long term change.
What’s one habit you’re working on?

Some clients become so much more than just clients… and Fiona is definitely one of those people. 💚💚
Fiona has been coming to me since I started my business here in Scotland, and over the years we’ve worked together to transform and maintain her skin predominantly through regular microneedling, along with various other treatments along the way.
But it hasn’t just been about her skin.
At different stages of her life, we’ve also had nutrition consultations, looking at what was happening for her at that particular time and what small changes could support her energy, vitality and overall wellbeing.
Over the past year, while studying with MNU, I’ve felt increasingly confident in the evidence based knowledge I can bring into these conversations. Being able to combine my experience in skin with what I’m learning about nutrition has given me an even stronger foundation to guide my clients.
And the thing I absolutely love about Fiona is that she listens… and then she actually applies it.
I see the difference when she comes back to me not just in her skin, but in the way she looks, feels and carries herself.
I have so much respect for her, not only as a client, but as a person. She is kind, loyal, thoughtful and just one of those people who makes you genuinely grateful that you chose the career you did. 💚☘️
This is why I love what I do.
It’s not simply about a treatment on a treatment bed. It’s about building trust, educating, supporting and working together over time and watching someone reap the rewards of the effort they put in themselves.
Thank you, Fiona, for trusting me all these years. ☘️💚

🥚 MEAL PREP MADE SIMPLE
Healthy eating doesn’t have to mean spending hours in the kitchen.
A little preparation can make it much easier to make nutritious choices when life gets busy:
🥚 Hard boil eggs an easy protein option for breakfasts, lunches or snacks.
🥕 Pre chop vegetables and fruit make the healthier choice the convenient choice.
🍓 Portion snacks ahead of time so you’re not reaching for whatever is easiest when hunger strikes.
🍲 Batch cook make extra portions of meals you already enjoy and save yourself time later.
✅ Set yourself up for success planning ahead can remove some of the decision-making when you’re tired, busy or simply don’t have the time.
You don’t need a complicated meal plan. You need a system that works for your life.

Throughout my MNU studies, I’ve made sure I kept training , not because I always had the time, but because I needed it. 💚
Especially these last few weeks of studying, preparing and sitting exams, training has been my way of switching off, clearing my head and decompressing.
Tomorrow is my final MNU exam, and today I really appreciated just how important that time has been for me. 🥹
So for all the women and men out there no matter how busy or difficult life gets, keep moving, keep lifting, even if it’s just twice a week. You don’t have to be perfect… just keep showing up. You’ll get there. 💪🏼☘️
THIS is why I talk about training for longevity. 💚
My sister’s story is a reminder that it doesn’t matter how old you are, where you’re starting from, or what life has thrown at you , you can start somewhere.
A few years ago, after falling down a mountain in Kerry, she dislocated her knee and broke her ankle.
As she said herself:
“My nerves were shot.”
She became frightened to step off a curb.
Today, after losing an incredible 8 stone 10lbs, rebuilding her strength and making the Fitness Lab her second home, she is doing things she once never thought possible.
Plyometrics.
Hopping.
Jumping.
Landing.
Building power.
And then there’s her boxing, her work, her husband, her two dogs and all the things she loves about her life.
This is what longevity means to me.
It’s not just about losing weight.
It’s about keeping your muscle, strength, balance, coordination, power and confidence as you get older so you can continue doing the things that make your life YOURS.🙏
And women, please don’t think you have to start where my sister is now.
You start where YOU are.
If you’re able to do impact exercise safely, gradually introducing things like hopping, jumping and other plyometric movements into your training can be a really valuable part of keeping your body strong and capable as you age.
Get guidance from a qualified coach or personal trainer if you’re unsure where to begin.
Because whether you’re 30, 40, 50, 60 or beyond…
it’s never too late to start building a stronger body for the life you want to live.
My sister is proof of that.
8 stone 10lbs lighter — but what she’s gained is worth so much more.
Strength.
Confidence.
Freedom.
And the ability to LIVE HER LIFE. ❤️
If you want support with your nutrition, menopause lifestyle or exercise journey, you can message me. I’d love to help you work out where to start.☘️💚
🔊 TURN THE SOUND UP… AND WATCH WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ZAP THE SPOT. ⚡️
That crackling sound you can hear is high frequency in action.
So what is actually happening?
The glass electrode contains a gas. When the high-frequency current passes through it, the gas is ionised and produces a small amount of ozone (O₃) at the surface of the skin.
When I lift the electrode slightly and “zap” a particular area, the electrical current creates a tiny controlled spark across the gap concentrating the ozone producing action directly over that spot.
💚 Why use it?
High frequency is used as a professional skin treatment because of its surface antimicrobial action. Research has shown reductions in certain bacteria and fungi in laboratory testing, which is why it can be particularly useful as part of treatments for congested and blemish prone skin and following extractions.
It can also provide a gentle warming/stimulating effect at the skin surface.
But here’s what I want you to understand…
This isn’t just about putting a machine on your face.
I’m a skin specialist, and I don’t treat every skin the same way.
Your skin history, current condition, medications, sensitivities and what you’re trying to achieve all matter.
That’s why consultation and patch testing are vital before introducing professional electrical treatments.
And because my work also includes nutrition and lifestyle, I look at the bigger picture not just what’s happening on the surface of your skin. 💚☘️

This one means so much to me. 💚
A year and 3 months ago, this lovely client Ainsley came to me for a facial… and a year ago I started with The Mac-Nutrition Collective
We never actually did the facial.
Instead, we spent two hours talking about what was really going on.
She was exercising excessively, under fuelling, struggling with her stomach, relying heavily on supplements and putting a huge amount of pressure on her body.
What followed wasn’t a quick fix.
She changed her approach to exercise, nutrition, recovery, movement and wellbeing and, most importantly, she kept working at it.
Her results have been incredible, but what makes me most proud is the change in how she looks after herself.
My ongoing studies with MNU (Mac-Nutrition Uni) have given me a much deeper understanding of nutrition and evidence based practice, and that knowledge has become a huge part of how I work with clients.
I don’t believe in simply telling women to eat less and exercise more.
We need to look at the bigger picture.
Nutrition. Movement. Recovery. Sleep. Stress. Lifestyle.
And sometimes, doing more isn’t the answer.
Sometimes we need to change what we’re doing.
Thank you for trusting me with your journey Ainsley and for allowing me to share your story. 🙏💚

🥗 5 common nutrition mistakes and how to fix them 💪
As I come towards the end of my MNU Nutrition Science studies, I’m learning more and more that good nutrition isn’t about perfection, restriction or chasing the latest trend.
It’s about understanding what your body actually needs and putting the basics in place consistently. 💪
Here are 5 common mistakes I see:
1️⃣ Under-fuelling carbohydrates 👉carbs are an important source of energy, especially around training.
2️⃣ Skipping recovery meals 👉recovery nutrition matters for supporting training, repair and adaptation.
3️⃣ Over-relying on supplements 👉supplements can have a place, but they don’t replace a well balanced diet.
4️⃣ Not planning ahead 👉being prepared makes healthy choices much easier when life gets busy.
5️⃣ Ignoring hydration 👉hydration is a simple but often overlooked part of nutrition and performance. 💧
The more I study, the more I appreciate that nutrition advice should be individual, practical and evidence-based not one-size-fits-all.
