All the things I didnât do to easily lose weight in Menopause
Because there is no ONE thing you can do that will fix it,
But put a framework together thatâs so simple it just slides into your lifeâŚ.
Removing and reducing foods, especially your favourites are going to only work for so long. No one wants rebound weight gain, we donât forget all the times thatâs happened!!
Exercise is not a punishment and it will never balance excess calories. Find something you love doing. Iâm obsessed with workouts under 30 minutes that challenge me and allow me to increase my efforts.
Hormones will never balance but eating regularly, reducing stress and losing weight will be far more effective than any supplement
I made changes, I wonât lie, but I stuck at it even when I wasnât seeing progress but when I did - it was Sooo worth the wait
If you want insight on my system you need to comment OUTSMART - I will send you a guide to get started and then we can chat about what actually works
If youâre struggling with sleep which is very common in menopause I would take a supplement of Magnesium glycinate.
Now you may have used magnesium glycinate in the past and to be honest it either tastes disgusting or comes in huge tablets that get stuck in your throat!
But this little sachet is the perfect amount and it tastes amazing. Pop into water with ice and you have a mango flavoured drink for the evening that actually helps you sleep like a baby.
Iâve literally been giving these to all my friends and I posted on my stories last week and everyone wants to know more
I swear by use JANWATTSNUTRITION for a trial, for the price of postage which is less than a Starbucks you can get 5 nights supply

Hereâs what actually works when youâre a busy woman trying to lose weight in menopause:
âĄď¸Cook once, eat twice
âĄď¸Batch cook your proteins and carbs in advance
âĄď¸Mix and match all week by changing the veg.
âĄď¸No need to count calories or macros, just weigh out your meal, microwave and serve
âĄď¸Come home to a meal, not a decision
Chicken thighs and rice on Monday become chicken and rice bowls on Tuesday with different spices thrown in.
Same base. Different flavours. Zero extra effort.
You donât need to be a chef. You need a system that works when youâre tired, busy, and done overthinking food.
When youâve got a demanding lifestyle, the last thing you need is decision fatigue over dinner on top of decision fatigue at work all day.
When the meal is already sorted, youâre not relying on willpower at 6pm after a testing day. Youâre not one bad meeting away from ordering a takeaway youâll regret.
No more standing at the fridge deciding between takeaway and nothing.
I thought I had to earn my results through effort. Turns out I just had to stop making it so hard.
Simple isnât the easy way out. Itâs the way that lasts. No 12-ingredient recipes. No âclean eatingâ rules. No spending your Sunday crying over a meal plan.
Simplicity isnât lazy. Itâs sustainable.

My nervous system had been running on high functioning burnout for so long, I never noticed these small behaviours.
My body had adapted to coping and it never occurred to me this was linked to menopause and high levels of anxiety.
1. Doom scroll my phone for hours because being still was more overwhelming
2. Feel exhausted physically while at the same time my mind would be racing and refusing to slow down
3. Replay conversations over and over, especially at 3am!
4. Cancel plans because I didnât have capacity to be there for other people
5. Feel guilty for every moment of rest, despite knowing it was what my body was craving
6. Want to be alone but feel lonely at the same time
7. Get overwhelmed with small tasks and procrastinate about the simplest things
8. Stay up too late because that felt like my own time
9. Be completely disconnected from my life and just let the days pass
10. Purposely made my life smaller while knowing how much I was missing
If you recognise yourself here, itâs not weakness, your nervous system has adapted to cope with the pressure.
A nervous system stuck in high alert doesnât just wreck your sleep and your peace of mind. It changes your body chemistry too.
This is why so many women hit perimenopause doing everything ârightâ and still canât lose weight. It was never about willpower. It was your nervous system running the show.
You canât out-diet a dysregulated nervous system. Calm it down first, and your body stops fighting you.

I spent several years telling myself perimenopause was something that happened to other women.
Brain fog that goes beyond just mental exhaustion, that leaves you questioning your abilities
Depression that comes out of nowhere, that you just canât shake off and pretend itâs a bad day
Anxiety set off by the smallest things, from a racing heart to a full blown panic attack
Weight gain that changes your shape and hits your confidence
Exhaustion that has you falling asleep in front of the tv and waking up at 3am with a racing mind
These are just the tip of the iceberg, there are over 100 recognised symptoms.
I spent several years telling myself perimenopause was something that happened to other women. I had regular periods and zero hot flushes.
I just assumed that this was going to be my new normal, but something in me wanted to find out more, Iâm so glad I did but not before I walked away from 2 jobs in healthcare and felt like a complete failure because we were never told what to expect or how to cope.
Thank goodness that is starting to change, in April 2027 new workplace regulations in the UK will start to address how employers support women through menopause
If youâre struggling to cope at work, or in any part of your life please donât feel youâre alone. This season of life can be long and lonely.
But youâre not broken, youâre not weak and youâre certainly not alone. Iâve put some of the strategies that helped me in Outsmart Menopause which dives a bit deeper than social media. Comment OUTSMART
A lot of social media posts tell you that you can lose weight quickly because thatâs what you want to believe and in the past we all know that we couldâve dropped a few pounds over what felt like a weekend!
But as our bodies age itâs not quite as straightforward, itâs going to take longer than you think and once you accept that and embrace a more comfortable approach things happen
Menopause weight loss needs a different approach - one where you start with a realistic framework of meals and exercise and the daily habits to shift from the woman who tries and fails to the woman who plans and builds a bulletproof system that stands up to a busy schedule
