❤️ I love this thought… using socials has given me confidence I had lost over time - being mum & hairdresser. Just doing my thing and not pushing myself! & now I’m pushing myself more than ever…
All I can say is… keep going! We have got this!! Practice makes perfect and YOU BE YOU!! 🫶🏼✨ Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle and just shine with your own individuality!! (trust me when I say it doesn’t help you in the long run!)
A good bob starts with the basics: clean sections, balance and knowing why you’re cutting each line ✂️

I think this is something I’m finally learning… Not everyone in the industry is going to agree with everything I say or post. And that’s OK!
I’ve spent far too long overthinking things before pressing post.
Will people agree? Will I sound like I think I know everything? Will somebody pick it apart? But if you try to keep everyone happy, you end up saying nothing at all - I definitely don’t know everything and I never will. But after more than 20 years in this industry, I do have experience, knowledge and opinions that are worth sharing.
Say what you mean. Be respectful. Stay open to other opinions… and let the right people find you 🫶🏼

Honestly… people want to see YOU!
Of course, showing your work is important. The beautiful hair, the transformations and the finished results all show people what you can do. But if that’s all you ever share, how will they really get to know the person behind it.
You don’t have to share your whole life or become somebody different for social media.
Just let more of YOU come through.
Your work gets you noticed & Your knowledge builds trust!
Your personality makes people stay…. Because ultimately… YOU are the brand! 🫶🏼

This is also something I have struggled with/experienced myself!
Can you go into a salon to have your curls/coils cut AND styled how you naturally want to wear them??

Yes, as hairdressers we cut, colour and style hair…
But it’s never just about making someone look different.
Sometimes it’s watching them sit a little taller. Seeing their face change when they look in the mirror. Helping them feel confident, comfortable and more like themselves again.
Not every appointment needs to create a whole new person… Sometimes the best result is helping someone recognise themselves again.
That feeling is still one of my favourite parts of being a hairdresser, even after 20+ years. 🫶🏼
