أكدت عائلة بروس ويليس خططها للتبرع بدماغه للبحث العلمي بعد وفاته، على أمل أن يساعد هذا القرار الباحثين على فهم الخرف الجبهي الصدغي بشكل أفضل، وهو المرض الذي أنهى مسيرته التمثيلية في عام 2022.

كان قد شُخِّص لأول مرة بـ الحبسة الكلامية عام 2022، ثم تطورت حالته إلى الخرف الجبهي الصدغي (FTD) في العام التالي. وقد اتحدت زوجته إيما هيمينغ ويليس، وزوجته السابقة ديمي مور، وبناته الخمس لدعم هذا القرار.

Bruce Willis's family has confirmed plans to donate his brain to scientific research after his death, hoping the decision will help researchers better understand frontotemporal dementia, the disease that ended his acting career in 2022. He was first diagnosed with aphasia in 2022, a diagnosis that progressed to FTD the following year, and his wife Emma Heming Willis, ex-wife Demi Moore, and his five daughters have united behind the decision.
Emma described the choice as "emotionally difficult but scientifically necessary." FTD remains the most common form of dementia among adults under 60, and there is currently no cure, so postmortem brain tissue gives researchers a rare window into how the disease alters the brain at a cellular level, information that's difficult to gather any other way.
