Pregnancy is a physiological process, but that doesn’t mean every pregnancy experience is the same.

And while we cannot control every aspect of pregnancy or birth, being informed can change how we navigate the experience.

That’s why, during our 1-Hour Pregnancy Crash Class, we focused on more than just what happens during pregnancy.

We talked about:

🤰 Knowing what is happening in your body
🩺 Understanding your care options
❓ Asking questions when something doesn’t feel right
🗣️ Speaking up and advocating for yourself
💡 Making informed decisions in partnership with your healthcare team

You don’t have to know everything. But you should feel empowered to ask questions, seek information, and participate in decisions about your care.

Your pregnancy is YOUR experience.
Your voice matters.
And you deserve to be an informed participant in your care.

This is the kind of education and support we are building through The Informed Moms Network.

Educate. Empower. Support.

Only 10 minutes with your healthcare provider? Make those minutes count!

Prenatal appointments can sometimes feel rushed, and it’s easy to leave the room thinking, “Oh, I forgot to ask that!” 😩

But you don’t have to remember everything on the spot.

A little preparation can help you make the most of your appointment and feel more confident participating in your care.

Before your next prenatal visit:

📝 Write down your questions ahead of time
🎯 Start with your most important concern
🗣️ Be specific about any symptoms you’re experiencing
💬 Ask questions when something isn’t clear
📋 Make sure you understand what happens next
🚨 Ask what warning signs to look out for and when to seek help

You are not “bothering” your healthcare provider by asking questions. Understanding your care is part of your care. 🤎

Save this post and use it as your checklist before your next prenatal appointment. And tag or share it with a pregnant mom who might find it helpful.

At The Informed Moms Network, we believe informed moms are better equipped to make informed choices for themselves and their families.

Educate. Empower. Support.
Informed Moms. Healthier Families.

Three weeks ago today, we officially launched The Informed Moms Network. 💛

It was a day filled with powerful conversations, encouragement, and reminders of just how much this work is needed.

We heard, again and again, how meaningful it is to create a space that supports Black pregnant and new moms and their families with trusted information, culturally relevant resources, and a community they can lean on.

To every guest, speaker, volunteer, supporter, and everyone who showed up and shared a kind word — thank you. Your presence, encouragement, and support mean more than we can put into words.

We truly couldn’t have done it without you. ❤️

It’s a day we won’t forget anytime soon. And if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s this:

This is only the beginning. There is so much more to come. ✨

Thank you for believing in the vision.
Educate. Empower. Support.

Breastmilk is a superfood for babies and all they need for growth and nourishments during the first 6 months of life.
Breastmilk delivers the antibodies and immunity babies need to fight infections and diseases.
It is recommended as the only food for babies during this period, however Moms need support for to achieve this.
A supportive workplace
A supportive economy
A supportive social circle
Supportive friends and family.
