You’d never know there was a band of orange around her head when she first came to see me! 😍

Today we refreshed her roots and added some lowlights using the same formula to help tie everything together and create a softer, more natural look.

I’m so happy with how this colour came out! ✨

She first came to me years ago when I was working at another salon, dealing with significant matting throughout her beautiful, incredibly curly hair. Due to health challenges, caring for her hair wasn’t always easy.

Over the years, we’ve worked through this together, always with the goal of keeping as much of her natural hair as possible while being extra gentle with her sensitive scalp.

Having her come to see me in my own studio means so much. She trusts me to do what’s best for her and her hair, and I’m incredibly grateful for that trust. 💕

We also talked about nighttime care and braiding her hair before bed, especially since she sleeps on her back. Thankfully, the matting doesn’t happen often, but when it does, she knows I’m here for her.

It’s more than hair. It’s trust, patience, and caring for the person sitting in my chair. ❤️

❤️ **Everyone, meet Dave — my ex-father-in-law and one very special person in my life.**

This man has truly been through it. He’s a wonderful, kind-hearted man who, like many of us, doesn’t always take the time to take care of himself the way he should. Luckily for him, I’ve always loved taking care of him — and that hasn’t changed. ❤️

Dave has faced some serious health challenges over the years, including multiple heart attacks and cancer more than once. Most recently, he was preparing for surgery to have half of his lung removed.

The good news is that his surgery went ahead, and thankfully, the doctors were able to remove all of the cancer. Even better, he won’t need chemotherapy or radiation. 🙏❤️

Before his surgery, we decided it was time to give him a little freshening up. ✂️💈

Here’s Dave’s **before & after** — a simple haircut, but one that meant a whole lot more than just getting cleaned up. Sometimes taking care of someone is as simple as making sure they feel good, comfortable, and a little more like themselves. ❤️

I’m so grateful I’ve had the opportunity to be there for Dave through the years, and I’m especially grateful for this good news.

There’s just something about a **skin fade** that never gets old. 🔥

A clean skin fade is one of my absolute favorite cuts to do. I love the precision, the attention to detail, and watching the fade come together from a tight finish at the skin into a smooth, seamless blend.

Every fade is different, and getting those transitions just right is what makes it so satisfying. When the blend is clean and the finished cut comes together perfectly, you just *know*. 👌💈

Skin fades will always be one of my favorites — sharp, clean, and timeless.
