An RMT in British Columbia recently created a new federal petition to gather further support for HST/GST exemption for massage therapy in Canada.

This petition is sponsored by MP Brad Vis, who has previously championed similar exemption petitions directed towards the previous federal government.

A related petition, recently presented in the House of Commons by Newfoundland MP Jonathan Rowe, has already mandated a government response. Every new petition presented with maximum signatures further amplifies our collective voice and compels the government to act on this crucial issue.

Major Update From Sommer Health and Wellness -

As I’ve mentioned in the past, my partner has been working mostly abroad since 2021. With the renewal of my lease coming up at my Yonge street location, I’ve been doing some reflection on the fact that we’ve been apart for so long. As such, after much deliberation, I’ve decided that I will not be renewing the lease for the downtown clinic. I will continue to treat both there and at the east end location until the end of April.

In May I will also pause treatments at home to join my partner in Dublin for his next contract. I will continue to work from my East End location when we are in town, but the plan is to join him around the world wherever his job takes him. I’ll post updates as to when I am back in town both via email and on social media.
