I get questions like this from women all the time. What do I do when Iām trying to be good but my friends want to have a pizza night?
There is always so much guilt, shame and feelings of failure attached this question. And I donāt like that!
My first recommendation - remember that life is always going to get in the way. Life is supposed to be fun! Life is all about people, joy and fun. Health is about the consistency of healthy habits, not being strict to the point of perfectionism. That doesnāt bring joy!
My second recommendation - use #1 to get rid of the feelings of guilt, shame and failure about wanting to join your friends for pizza night. Allowing these feelings to drive your decision making is going to create a bad relationship between you and healthy food.
My last recommendation - go to pizza night and love every second of it! If you feel like you need to bring your own dinner or a gluten free pizza for yourself, do that. You can make sure you fill up on salad and veggies before having pizza so that you eat less pizza. It all depends on what your goals are. There are so many things you can do in social situations to be healthy while also not totally missing out.

Hereās how Iād fix my hormonal acne, painful periods, insane food cravings, lousy energy and crappy sleepā¦
I dealt with these relentless issues for almost 20 years. Once I figured out that these were all related to my hormones and that my hormones were being affected by my blood sugar, EVERYTHING CHANGED.
My boyfriend saw a picture of me from about 10 years ago and said āwow youāve lost a lot of weight!ā . Truthfully, I didnāt lose any āweightā, I just leaned out because my body started functioning more optimally. Because I learned some stuff..
Itās important to understand that our hormones are signallers, not enemies. If we can get to know them, we can control them.
Step 1: get to know the nature of the food I am eating. Am I eating a lot of fake colouring, pesticides, chemicals, canola oil, stuff thatās got loads of added sugar. These things matter! They add a toxic load to our bodies that we legit donāt need.
Step 2: learn about my hormones. In my cycle - Which hormones are doing what and when. Insulin is a hormone, whatās that doing? Are my hormones functioning as they should be?
Step 3: learn WHY my hormones arenāt working properly. Hormones are made of protein, so am I eating enough? Am I super constipated? We p**p out hormone waste, so is stuff sticking around inside my body? Insulin gets secreted when I eat sugar and carbs. Am I overdoing it and potentially wearing out my insulin sensitivity?
Health is all about understanding. If this sounds like something you need, get yourself into my Facebook community The Balanced Woman Collective. Inside there, we talk about all things womenās health. Joint the conversation now!

Honestly, thereās no better feeling than watching a woman transform her own health.
A student came to be today and thanked me because her health has improved big time in just 2 weeks.
Iām so incredibly proud of her. And Iām passing this message on as a quick reminder that if she can do it, so can you.
You have a right to better health.
Hormone friendly, high protein, high fibre split pea soup.
This soup is really tasty and so fast to throw together.
Want the recipe? DM or comment the word SOUP and Iāll send you the recipe.
Do you ever find yourself super consistent with your healthy meals and taking your supplements when life is pretty routine. But then fall completely off track as soon as life throws a wrench in your way?
I do too!
When this happens, just remember that you have the right to start over. You have the right to slow down and think.
Having a healthy body is all about the small healthy things you do consistently. Itās not about 100% perfection all the time.
So when things get tough (because they always do). Slow down, take 5, think, remember the little things you do for your health consistently. This is the best way to ensure they donāt get missed.
You can do it.

Hereās the hard truth about hormone health that no one talks about.
Your hormones are not going to change unless you change.
And when I say āchangeā I donāt just mean gluten free diet and no more dairy products. I mean an actual change.
Women who achieve balanced hormone health change from their mindset to their lifestyle and many things in between.
Health is not just about cutting foods, depriving yourself of treats, pounding supplements and hoping for the best.
Itās about learning your body. Itās about understanding your individual needs. Itās about cultivating a mindset that creates an environment conducive to health in the body. Itās about understanding the power of our own bodies and where your meals fall into that. Itās about slowing down and allowing time for a rebalance to occur.
It is possible for you. I know it is. Iāve seen and worked with many women who have achieved their hormone health goals and they all had these things in common.
If youāre ready for lasting change to your health, send me a DM. Iād be happy to help you along your journey.
One of my students said to me the other day, āI used to be such a good eater when I was younger. But Iāve let it all go. And I donāt know why. But I want to get it back!ā
I canāt even begin to describe how ecstatic I am that she said this.
I truly love this attitude toward her health. I think itās a beautiful for her to want her health back and that sheās taking it upon herself to do it.
Our health is our responsibility. Not our doctors. Not our massage therapists. Ours. And we have more control over it than we think we do.
This is something I choose to empower each and every client and student with.
Take control of your health. Because it belongs to you.
If youāre ready to do that, follow along/leave a comment/send a DM. I would be honoured to be part of your journey š.
Ever heard of āRoundup ready crops?ā
This info is from the NIH so when I get cancelled for talking about it loudly, youāll know where to go LOL.
These are GMO crops that have bacteria genes inserted into them so that they tolerate the Round Up pesticide product. Simply so farmers can spray for weeds and not kill their crop.
Ya. You want to eat that?
Most heavily affected plants:
Soy, canola, cotton and corn.
If anyone ever says to you āorganic labels are just marketingā , have them Google āroundup ready cropsā.
Whatās actually the āmarketingā is selling you food product that is GMO and covered in pesticide/herbicide that is known to cause health problems and destroy the human microbiome, and telling you itās healthy.
This dish is super tasty. Super savoury .
Stores really easily. Low carb. No added sugar. High protein. Best of all, hormone friendly!
It took about 30 mins to chop everything and cook it up.
What I had here made about 4 meals worth of- which is great!
Want to try it?
