She has a hormonal IUD.
She doesn’t get a 🩸🩸🩸.
She doesn’t experience mood swings.
And in her words: “It’s perfect.”

With so many stories online about coming off hormonal contraception and feeling like yourself again, it can sometimes sound like hormonal contraception = bad and a natural cycle = good.

But women’s experiences aren’t that simple.

Some women feel better without hormonal contraception.
Some feel better with it.
Some struggle with side effects.
Others genuinely love it.

The important part? Having the information to make a choice that works for YOUR body.

So let’s hear both sides:

Are you happy on your hormonal contraception? 👇

Turns out I can dance, bleed & have a pretty guud time. 🩸🪩💃

Last day of my period = energy slowly coming back, just in time for We Can Dance.

And yes, the burger was part of the period plan. 🍔😉
Red meat = a source of iron, and we lose iron through menstrual blood… so I’ll happily call this period food.

Dancing, burgers, & talking to strangers about their PMS, periods and hormonal contraception.

If your skin breaks out in the same spot at the same time every month, that’s not bad luck.

After ovulation progesterone rises, and it tells your skin to make more oil. Just before your period estrogen dips too, so the balance shifts again. Same window, same spot, every cycle.

Once you know it’s coming, it stops feeling like a personal failing and starts feeling like information.

We asked women one question: “Tell me about your first 🩸🩸🩸.”
Two answers in and we already know we can’t stop here.
Should we keep going and turn this into a series? Tell us in the comments. And drop your own story while you’re there. 👇
