Assalamualaikum to all Rohingya brothers and sisters.

We warmly invite you to join us for Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day 2026.

On August 25, 2017, more than 700,000 Rohingya were forced to flee their homeland. Nine years later, we continue to honor those we lost, stand with survivors, and renew our call for justice, dignity, accountability, and the right to return.

We also remember the Rohingya civilians who suffered during the renewed violence in Arakan in 2025. Numerous reports documented serious human rights abuses, including allegations against the Arakan Army (AA). We call for accountability, protection of civilians, and justice for all victims.

Thai CSOs urge government not to engage with Myanmar regime

August 6, 2026

Sixteen Thai civil society organizations on Wednesday urged the Thai government not to grant legitimacy to the Myanmar regime by engaging with it.

In a joint statement, the groups said they stand in opposition to coup leader Min Aung Hlaingโ€™s visit to Thailand and argued that engaging with the Myanmar regimeโ€”which they said is responsible for widespread violence and alleged war crimesโ€”would sustain the countryโ€™s conflict, instead of promoting regional stability. The statement also called for a review of efforts to cooperate with the regime.

On the same day, prominent former Thai MP Kannavee Suebsang warned that Thailand must uphold the principle of not granting legitimacy to Myanmar regime leaders, while maintaining communication channels with them to protect its national interest.

Coup leader Min Aung Hlaing arrived Bangkok on Thursday morning for an official visit at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. He is due to hold talks on transboundary issues including pollution, security, trade and crime.

Asia Human Rights and Labor Advocates director Phil Robertson said Thursday that Thailandโ€™s engagement with the regime could be considered โ€œthe triumph of hope over experience,โ€ which would again result in โ€œlittle except bad publicityโ€ for Thailand, for what he said was its complicity with โ€œthe worst human rights abusers in Asia.โ€
