Fraxel is a brand of a fractionated laser. Fractionation means that the laser beam is divided into microscopic thermal zones resulting in only a fraction of the skin is treated. This then means that the surrounding skin of the thermal zone is left untreated resulting in quicker healing time; this is dependent on the density and condition being treated.

Fraxel has two wavelengths; 1927nm and 1550nm. Treatments can either be performed with each individual wavelength or as a dual which means that both laser wavelength are performed. Fraxel 1927nm treats epidermal (superficial) concerns like pigmentation or superficial creping.

What Skinfluence Clinic started as …. A shell.

Looking back at these photos, it’s hard to believe this is where Skinfluence started.

No running water.
No lights.
No finished walls.
No beautiful treatment rooms.

Just a very empty shell… and a nurse practitioner who somehow became a project manager, builder, purchaser, problem-solver and professional chaser-of-tradies overnight.

I knew what I wanted Skinfluence Clinic to become, but building a clinic from the ground up was a whole different story.

There were decisions I never expected to make, problems I didn’t know existed, and plenty of moments where I wondered what on earth I’d got myself into.

And this was all happening while I was heavily pregnant and preparing to open during a pandemic.

It was, quite frankly, a wild way to start a business.

But somewhere amongst the dust, building works, deliveries, decisions and endless lists, Skinfluence started to take shape.

Six years later, I look back at these photos with so much pride.

Not because the walls became pretty, but because this little shell became a place where our team could care for thousands of patients and provide dermatology care to our local community.

The clinic may have started with nothing but a shell.

But it started with a pretty big vision.

Six years of Skinfluence Clinic. And what a journey it’s been.

Skinfluence Clinic has officially been opened for 6 years and we couldn't be happier or prouder!

Firstly, on behalf of the whole Skinfluence Clinic team, we would like to say a massive thank you to all of our patients, family and friends who have supported us for the past 6 years. We are so very grateful to each and every one of you!
