A Healing Hands voucher gives him time, care and space to check in with his body.
Getting older doesn't have to mean accepting less mobility, less energy or living with ongoing stiffness as “just part of it.”
With the right support, Dad can start paying attention to the patterns his body has been carrying and take a step towards feeling more mobile, capable and at ease again.

A kind word from someone who understands movement, training and the value of proper care around the body.
We’re grateful to be trusted by local gym owners and trainers who care about where they send their clients.
Referrals like this mean a lot because they come from people who see the difference consistent, structured bodywork can make over time.

Marathon training puts the most load on the body in these final few weeks - longer runs, higher volume, less time to recover between sessions.
That's usually when tight calves, sore hips and heavy legs start showing up, even for well-trained runners.
At Healing Hands, we work with runners through this stage of training to help manage load, ease tension in overworked muscles and support recovery between long runs, not just after race day.

Taking painkillers to get through the day can only help you so far.
They may take the edge off in the moment, but they don’t always explain why your body keeps returning to the same pattern.
Migraines and recurring head tension can involve stress, sleep, nervous system sensitivity, breathing patterns, posture, jaw tension, neck tension, shoulder load and the way your body has learned to hold itself over time.
At Healing Hands, we look at these areas together rather than treating migraines as one isolated issue.
That may include working with the neck, jaw, shoulders, ribcage and breathing patterns, while also helping you understand what may be adding to the load in daily life.
The goal is not to chase symptoms in isolation, but to understand the bigger picture and work towards longer-term relief through a clear, structured approach.
If you are dealing with migraines, headaches or recurring head and neck tension, book in at Healing Hands.

Winter school holidays can pull people out of routine.
There is more sitting, more driving, more time caring for everyone else, and often less time checking in with yourself.
Cold weather can also make old patterns feel more noticeable. Stiffness, tight shoulders, lower back discomfort or that general sense of feeling heavy can start to creep in.
This is a good time to slow down, reset and pay attention to what has been building up.
If your body has been asking for attention, this is your reminder to listen.
Always grateful when clients take the time to share their experience.
For many tradies, the body carries a lot over the years. The goal is not just short-term relief, but helping the body work better with the demands placed on it.
Thank you for trusting Healing Hands with the process.

Dads are often very good at just getting on with it.
They don't always talk about the stiffness, the reduced mobility, the old aches or the way their body is not quite keeping up like it used to.
This Father’s Day, give Dad something meaningful. Not just a gift for the day, but care for the body he relies on every day.
A session at Healing Hands can help him slow down, check in and get the right support for how his body is feeling and functioning.
If you would like to treat Dad this Father’s Day, get in touch to organise a gift voucher or book him in.

There is a lot of body advice online.
Some of it is helpful. Some of it is oversimplified. Some of it is designed to make you feel like one technique, one tool, or one quick fix is the answer to everything.
Len has been working with bodies for many years across different modalities, movement patterns, sport, fitness, recovery, and therapeutic bodywork.
His perspective is grounded in real people, real bodies, and real patterns that show up over time.
When it comes to things like lymph nodes, pain, tension, restriction, or recurring discomfort, the body is rarely as simple as one viral ad makes it seem.
That doesn't mean you should ignore what your body is telling you.
It means meeting with someone in person who can help you make sense of what is actually going on in your body.
If something feels unusual, persistent, or concerning, it is always worth speaking with a health professional.
And if you are looking for grounded, practitioner-led bodywork that helps you understand your body without the online random Ai noise, send us a DM, call, or email to book your session.

Sometimes adult children notice the changes before Mum does.
She may be getting up more slowly. Walking more cautiously. Avoiding stairs. Sitting out of activities she used to enjoy. Saying she is “just getting older” when something in her movement has clearly changed.
Age can play a role, but reduced mobility shouldn’t automatically be dismissed as old age.
Especially if Mum is only in her 50s or 60s.
This can be an important time to pay attention to stiffness, balance, strength, confidence and the way her body is adapting. The earlier these changes are noticed, the more opportunity there is to support better movement habits before they become deeply ingrained.
At Healing Hands, we look at the body as a whole. We pay attention to how someone moves, where they may be holding tension, what areas are compensating, and what patterns may be contributing to restriction or discomfort.
This is not about waiting until Mum is in her 70s or 80s and struggling more noticeably.
It is about helping her stay connected to her body now, so she can keep moving with more ease, confidence and independence over time.
If you have noticed Mum is not moving the way she used to, it may be worth gently encouraging her to get support early.
CrossFit asks a lot from the body.
Strength, speed, mobility, coordination, repetition, fatigue, and recovery all come into the picture.
From Len’s perspective, after many years working across bodywork, different modalities, sport, and fitness, the issue is not usually one exercise on its own.
It is often how the body is managing load over time.
The same shoulder keeps getting irritated. The lower back starts taking over. The hips feel locked. The neck or traps begin doing more than they should. These patterns can build quietly, especially when fatigue enters the picture.
If you want to keep training long-term, it is worth paying attention to what keeps showing up again and again.
Not just where it hurts, but what your body may be repeating.
At Healing Hands, we look beyond the sore area and work through the patterns that may be contributing to recurring tension, restriction, or overload.
