Dating and business have taught me the same slightly painful lesson...

You cannot convince someone to see your worth.

I used to think if I explained myself better, tried harder, gave more or made myself easier to choose, things would work out.

Spoiler: they didn't 😂

And the same goes for clients.

If you’re constantly chasing, over-explaining, discounting and trying to prove why you’re worth booking, it might not be the person for you.

The right man (or the right client) should not need convincing or a limited-time discounted offer 😅

These days, I’d rather save my energy for the people who already see the value.

Now be honest, have you ever tried way too hard to convince someone to choose you, in dating or in business?

Some people collect handbags.

I collected questionable friendships, bad business decisions and men who looked like a good idea at the time. 😅

Would I make those choices again?

Absolutely not.

Did they teach me what loyalty looks like, what not to invest in and what red flags I apparently needed in flashing neon lights?

They sure did!

So technically, they weren’t mistakes.

They were very expensive life lessons with terrible customer service. 😂

A bad decision is only wasted if you learn nothing from it.

Becoming a mum at 40 and what it has taught me

I thought motherhood meant putting my own dreams away.

Turns out, it just gave me a bigger reason to chase them.

Less sleep. Less free time. More responsibility.

But somehow, I've reached more goals than I did before motherhood.

Because becoming a mum doesn’t mean you stop wanting things for yourself.

It just means you learn how to build your dreams around snack time, school runs and someone yelling “Mum!” every five minutes 😅

Getting older has taught me that the right people don’t need a polished version of you.
They don’t need you to perform, shrink or prove your worth.

I’ve been questioning a lot lately.
