This post isn’t the easiest to write but I know it’s the right thing to do… for a lot of reasons 😔

Firstly, yes the image attached is correct. As of right now, Perfectly Polished by Sarah is permanently closed with no future plans to re-open. I’m so sorry to anyone that this causes an inconvenience to especially those of you who have been so regular and loyal to my salon but as I said, it wasn’t an easy choice to make and it’s taken me a lot of soul searching before I came to this decision but I honestly feel like it’s the right one.

I try not to bring my own life and troubles into the salon but I know a few regulars have seen a few moments of my struggle in the past few months (probably the last 4 or so mostly but this past year as a whole). On top of the salon which I work from 5pm till late each weeknight and then 8:30am-late on regular weekends I always work full time Monday to Friday in Finance for an incredibly successful and thriving company. I have ALSO been working in between all of that on my own 2nd business The Apricot Fox AU which has barely gotten any of the attention that it deserves. This all makes me extremely tired but its what I’ve loved so I keep going.

However, this year has been a tough one as many of you have dealt with trials and troubles of your own. I came close to a very private anxious breakdown early in the year which I got through by making a few changes and giving up a couple of things (mostly my exercise routine 😂). I then unfortunately had a full and much more serious mental breakdown in September which forced me to walk away from everything for some time to mentally and physically repair and through the help of some professionals and my loving family I was able to reassess what my priorities should be and how I was to restructure my life to find balance and joy again.

In doing this I realised that I had stretched myself so thinly that no-one and no task was getting the best or even the good of me. Not just my work and businesses but my relationships (love, friends and professional) were all being neglected and needed a lot of time that I hadn’t been giving the priority they deserved.

I’ve recently realised that as much as I’ve spent the past 3.5 years creating, building and growing my salon, it’s not where my heart lies and where I find my happiness anymore. I don’t do it for the reasons I started it for anymore and it’s because of this realisation that I’m closing my salon. I figure that if it’s not bringing me the happiness that I need and if I’m not spending the time with the people who DO because if I’m doing it then it’s time to say goodbye 😔

Again, thank you all so much for you support and I’m so sorry 💕 I hope that if you are looking for a new nail/lash/brow tech, you’ll look locally to yourselves and try another home salon/small business because it really does make a difference ❤️
