Trying to find images and scenarios to explain what I now see on a daily basis: barrier damage.

This has been a sore spot for me for years.

A skincare routine goes viral on TikTok because some women have incredible results. But read through the comments and you’ll often find women saying the same routine left their skin dry, stinging, red, flaky or breaking out worse than they ever have before.

And too often the response is:

“Well, YOU must have been doing something wrong.”

But here’s what years of actually working hands-on with skin taught me:

The same routine does not equal the same outcome ⚠️

Because unlike TikTok skincare advice - when you’re treating the woman sitting right in front of you, there is no “delete comment” button when it doesn’t work.

You can’t scroll past her.

She’s sitting there with tears in her eyes, wondering why something that worked beautifully for someone else has absolutely wrecked her skin!

That’s when you start looking at skincare differently.

Not “follow the trend”

But “Can THIS woman’s skin tolerate this routine?”

This is where I live.

Trying to get the best outcome for the woman in front of me - sometimes that means recommending something that isn’t even one of my own products.

Because I learned a long time ago that there’s more to this than making a sale 💰

I was that woman for years.

Being treated like a number (my credit card number) while nobody seemed particularly interested in what happened to my skin afterwards.

I don’t want to build that kind of skincare brand.

I just want to be different. 🤍

It has been a LONG journey to get even this far.
6k followers. I remember being thrilled at 200 followers 🙏

Launching a product with Korean ingredients did not land as I thought it would. Women were not impressed, some told me quite often on my posts. Snails….gross!! I had a vision however.

Working in aesthetics & dermal therapy for over a decade now has served me well. I have been collecting data 📊

My brain clocks information differently (neurodivergent) and when I land on a theory - it comes with years of experience.
My products are the result.
Disrupting the skincare industry that push harsh actives to rejuvenate has not been easy either. Standing alone, (or with very few professionals) that sounded the alarm years ago on barrier damage takes courage. I decided to do things honestly and with social proof. I always knew it would be the longer road. Not including a Vitamin A in any of my products was almost financial su***de. Products without a Vitamin A would NOT sell. It’s the Gold Standard right!

Seeing others jumping on trends without knowing what the outcome will be for women’s skin (and only seeing $$) has also been hard. Women deserve better. The distrust in the skincare industry is at an all time low.

I am really proud to say that I have made it this far with honesty and keeping women outcomes front and centre of everything I do. Because I am you! I am a 49 year old in the depths of perimenopause and it’s a sh*tshow! It is horrible! I stopped recognising myself in the mirror and it happened so quickly!
