A year ago to the day, I was told to quit hairdressing.

This time last year I was wheeled off my flight back to Dubai.
What started as a bad knee turned into a full flare - I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t use my hands properly.
I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and a doctor told me I should just get a new job.
It was the darkest, most terrifying time of my life.
I didn’t talk about it because I couldn’t say it without crying.
A year to the day I was told to quit,
I will be in Fort Lauderdale as a TOP 100 FINALIST for the Color Blocking category at the Behind The Chair One Shot Hair Awards.
This is the look that got me there.
That pink and blonde block bob, that precision cut - it’s everything this year has taught me about resilience.
From not being able to hold a brush to being nominated for one of the biggest awards in our industry.
